Penelope Disick jumped on the "Minions" makeup transformation trend, turning brother Reign into one of the colorful characters.

She then drew round glasses onto her face with a black liner, and completed the look with glittery blue lips. She finished the look by drawing on the requisite black glasses with liquid eyeliner, filling the frames with a shimmery white shade from another Kylie Cosmetics palette for added punch. The 10-year-old daughter of Kourtney Kardashian and Scott Disick broke into her mom’s beauty stash with Reign, 7, and documented it all on TikTok Tuesday.

Released July 1, Minions: Rise of Gru became an unexpected smash-hit around the world, raking in over $700 million at the global box office. After a small number of these groups became rowdy, some theaters began refusing service to suited youngsters, although Universal Pictures, the film’s production company, whole-heartedly endorsed the #gentleminions trend, no doubt because it was boosting the film’s box office success.

Things Only Adults Notice In Minions: The Rise Of Gru (Looper)

"Minions: The Rise of Gru" takes place in the 1970s and follows a younger version of the famous villain. It's crammed full of jokes that only adults will ...

Either way, the actor is the only member of the Vicious 6 to have such a personal connection to the villain they voice. Still, parents in the audience tracking the length of time Gru has been gone can point to his mom's lack of awareness as terrible parenting — which voice actor Julie Andrews is also quick to point out. Reversing the direction of a vinyl is simple enough, but most of the time it just leads to indecipherable noise, as the track was intended to play in the other direction. This leaves her on the fringes of the story, and judging by the way she seems completely unbothered when shown later hosting a Tupperware party, we might assume she's completely oblivious to her son being in danger. "Jaws" was a summer blockbuster, and "The Rise of Gru" firmly establishes its timestamp as during Lunar New Year, which takes place during the winter. Kids aren't likely to know this, but (according to Harvard University's Pluralism Project) gurus were extremely popular in 1970s America, when "The Rise of Gru" takes place. In contrast to the "Despicable Me" films, which take place in present day, the "Minions" prequels thus far have wound back the clock and have taken place in their own distinct decades. "Jaws" hit cineplexes in 1975 and is today considered the first in its own genre of movies: A special effects-driven spectacle released in the summertime and designed to draw large crowds. This includes a visit to the Bank of Evil, where Wild Knuckles plans to fake a medical emergency so Gru can sneak into the vaults and steal money. Through that lens, let's take a look at some things only adults notice in "Minions: The Rise of Gru." Adults old enough to remember the bicentennial festivities may recall how big of a deal the nation made of its birthday that year, with celebrations extending the length of 1976, not just in July. It's difficult to achieve this level of success if the material doesn't appeal to a wide range of people.

I Watched the New Minions Movie and Had an End-of-Childhood ... (New University)

Five years since the last addition to the franchise “Minions: The Rise of Gru” is the highly-anticipated summertime smash revival to the 'Despicable Me' family.

He is embarrassed to be seen with his minion guardians at school, evading their displays of affection and excitement. Elements of Pixar-like artifacts and mystical transformations are coupled with the whacky minion population held together by the Minion-Chicken baby. Reprising his ethnically-ambiguous (but most likely some sort of Eastern European) role, Steve Carrell tweaks his Gru voice up a few pitches to fully encapsulate the young supervillain, pre-puberty and pre-balding. The little villain craves to be independent and to be treated seriously, but still has a crippling fear of people calling his mom to report his behavior, all of which resonate with the young-adult angst that everyone experiences. The premiere was met with hoards of moviegoers dressed in formal attire called “ GentleMinions,” posting their movie viewings to TikTok. The film quickly gained a cult following of Gen-Z viewers. But when it was finally ready, the world — mostly Tiktok — was ready.
