The first hour is entirely set in the fifth century and the drama. While Bimbisara is evil, we also get the second character Deva Dutta to balance the good. Despite not so rousing the second half, “Bimbisara” makes a decent watch for its grander setting and time-travel element. The problem with “Bimbisara” is it doesn’t have a proper conflict. The resolution (the final part) is the biggest problem with this story. The 5th-century setting is a right mix of artwork and VFX. The cinematography is rich. The idea is exciting. We have seen films where Yama or angels come to earth and are confused about the lifestyle of modern humans and gadgets. New director Vashisht doesn’t beat around the bush to come to the point. Following the trend, Kalyan Ram came up with “Bimbisara” with a similar setup. Lavishly made and shot, the visual effects are top-class. The girl looks exactly like the one he killed in his kingdom.

ప్రధమార్థంలో చాలా సేపటి వరకు తెర మీద సన్నివేశాలు మారుతుంటాయి తప్ప ఎమోషన్ అందదు. నెమ్మదిగా కథ అందుకుని ఇంటర్వల్ బ్యాంగ్ కి వచ్చేసరికి ఎమోషనల్ గా మారుతుంది. సెకండాఫ్ కూడా మరీ ప్రెడిక్టబుల్ గా కాకుండా ప్యారలెల్ వర్డ్ల్స్ టైప్ లో ప్యారలల్ టైం లో జరిగే సన్నివేశాలు కొత్తగా ఉన్నాయి. అయితే వీటికీ ఈ మధ్యన వచ్చిన "ప్లే బ్యాక్" కి కొంచెం పోలికలు కనిపిస్తాయి. పాటలు మాత్రం పెద్ద గుర్తుండేలా, హం చేసుకునేలా లేవు. అయితే "ఈశ్వరుడే చేసినాడు కొత్త గారడి.." అనే పాట మాత్రం సందర్భోచితంగా చూస్తున్నప్పుడు ఆకట్టుకుంది. ఆ పాటకి చేసిన ఎడిటింగ్ కూడా బాగుంది. "గులేబకావళి అందం.." మాత్రం పాత తరహా ఆర్కెస్ట్రాలా వినిపిస్తుంది. కళ్యాణ్ రామ్ కష్టాన్ని మెచ్చుకోవచ్చు. ద్విపాత్రాభినయంలో చక్కని వైవిధ్యం కూడా చూపించాడు. కానీ అక్కడక్కడ అవసరానికి మించి అరిచినట్టు లౌడ్ గా అనిపించింది. క్యాథరీన్ మాత్రం లావుగా ఉన్నా ఆ పాత్ర వరకు సరిపోయింది. అయ్యప్ప శర్మ ఓకే. మిగిలిన వాళ్లంతా తమతమ పాత్రల్లో మమ అనిపించారు తప్ప ప్రత్యేకమైన మెరుపులు మెరిపించలేదు. దర్శకత్వపరంగా ప్రస్తుత స్టాండర్డ్స్ ని దృష్టిలో పెట్టుకుంటే యావరేజని చెప్పాలి. ఇలాంటి సినిమాలకు పని చేసేటప్పుడు ఇంకా సాన పెట్టాల్సిన అంశాలు ఎన్నో ఉన్నాయి. అయినప్పటికీ నిరుత్సాహపరచకుండా తీసిన సినిమా ఇది. సంగీతం (పాటలు): చిరంతన్ భట్, వరికుప్పల యాదగిరి, కీరవాణి అలాగే "యమగోల", "యమలీల" సినిమాల్లో యముడు, చిత్రగుప్తుడు భూలోకానికి వచ్చినట్టు ఇందులో కూడా అలాంటి సీన్స్ రిపీటైనట్టు అనిపించాయి. సంగీతం (బ్యాక్ గ్రౌండ్): ఎం.ఎం. కీరవాణి సాంకేతికంగా ఉన్నంతలో బాగానే తెరకెక్కించారు. కొన్ని చోట్ల గ్రాఫిక్స్ చీప్ గా అనిపించినా చాలా చోట్ల బాగున్నాయి. నేపథ్య సంగీతం ఆకట్టుకుంది. అన్నట్టు ఒకానొక చోట ధన్వంతరిపురం అనే ఊరి ఎపిసోడ్ వస్తుంది. అదేంటో గానీ ఒక్క క్షణం "ఆచార్య"లోని పాదఘట్టం గుర్తొచ్చి కంగారుపెట్టింది. కానీ అంతలోనే సర్దుకుని కథ ఆ దిశగా వెళ్లకుండా ట్రాకు మారింది. ఉన్నపళంగా ఒకానొక కాలానికి చెందిన వ్యక్తి వేరే కాలంలోకి వెళ్లడమనే కాన్సెప్ట్ ఈ మాధ్య జెర్మన్ వెబ్ సిరీస్ "డార్క్" లో పాపులరయింది. మనుసులు ఒక సొరంగం ద్వారా వేరు వేరు కాలాల్లోకి వెళ్లిపోతుంతారు ఈ సిరీస్ లో. ఇలాంటి ఐడియాతో నైజీరియన్ చిత్రం "డే ఆఫ్ డెస్టినీ" వచ్చింది. అందులో ఒక మెజీషియన్ ద్వారా పాత్రలు ఒక కాలంలోంచి ఇంకో కాలనికి వెళ్తారు. అలాగే ఇందులో మాయాదర్పణం ద్వారా కాలాల మధ్య ప్రయాణం చేస్తుంటుంది ప్రధానపాత్ర. రాజులకాలం, ప్రస్తుతకాలం మధ్యన కథనగానే "మగధీర" గుర్తొస్తుంది. అందులో రావురమేష్ పాత్రలాగ ఇందులో అయ్యప్పశర్మ పాత్రుంది. అక్కడ విలన్ లాగానే ఇక్కడా ప్రస్తుత కాలంలో విలనుంటాడు. అయితే మగధీర పునర్జన్మల కాన్సెప్ట్. ఇది అలా కాదు. టైటిల్ చూసి ఇది ఆ చారిత్రాత్మక చిత్రమేమో అనుకుంటే పొరపాటే. దానికి, ఈ సినిమాకి ఏ సంబంధమూ లేదు. సౌండింగ్ బాగుందనో, హిస్టారికల్ పేరైతే క్యాచీగా ఉంటుందనో ఈ టైటిల్ పెట్టారు తప్ప ఇంకేం కాదు. సింపుల్ గా చెప్పాలంటే రాజమౌళి తీసిన ఆర్.ఆర్.ఆర్ కి అల్లూరి సీతారామరాజుకి, కొమురం భీం కి ఎంత సంబంధముందో ఇదీ అంతే. బింబిసారుడనగానే క్రీస్తుపూర్వం 5వ శతాబ్దం నాటి మగథసామ్రాజ్యాధినేత గుర్తొస్తాడు. హిందీలో వైజయంతిమాల నటించిన "ఆమ్రపాలి"లో సునీల్ దత్ పోషించింది అజాతశత్రు పాత్ర. ఆ అజాతశత్రు తండ్రే బింబిసారుడు. అది చరిత్ర.

Jai Ho Bimbisara, it is worth your time and ticket. Bimbisara is a laugh riot and paisa vasool entertainer.

The climax of the Bimbisara is intriguing, makes the audience tense. The first half of the film is so entertaining. Prakash Raj, Vennela Kishore, and Srinivasa Reddy are the backbone to the film. Bimbisara has become the talk of the town. Kalyan Ram breathes life into Bimbisara made us all to sit up and take notice of his craft and his transformation for the character. Bimbisara has a twin brother Devadatta(Kalyan Ram) who is a kind and generous person.

It would have worked better if Vashishta hadn’t tried to tick every box in the masala film genre and trusted the material more. The film becomes a lot better when it escapes the no-budget Baahubali sets and lands in present day Hyderabad. Kalyan Ram brings his comic timing to the fore, and there are some moments in the film that are laugh-out-loud funny. She was awarded the Sahitya Akademi’s Bal Sahitya Puraskar for her novel Mayil Will Not Be Quiet in 2015. The conduit between the past and the present is a mirror and director Vashishta uses this well to generate humour. But unceremoniously removed from his position as the emperor of Trigarthala, he begins to discover humanity and the meaning of dharma.
