“Lalan Singh is well-known for making such revelations against his rivals. He had taken voluntary retirement from service to join politics in 2010. It is alleged that Mr. Singh purchased the plots in the Islampur and Asthawan blocks of Nalanda. According to the documents attached with the letter to Mr. Singh, 20 plots were purchased in the name of Mr. Singh’s daughters and 38 in the name of his wife. There is nothing wrong and no there was no corruption at all. The party has accused Mr. Singh of purchasing 58 plots, most of them in Nalanda district, in the name of his wife and two daughters between 2013 and 2022. In a letter to Mr. Singh on August 4, State party president Umesh Singh Kushwaha asked him to “respond point-wise” to the charges that he purchased as many as 58 plots in the name of his wife and two daughters.

Nitish Kumar's Janata Dal United (JDU) has sought a reply from former party president RCP Singh on all the properties he acquired in the last nine years.

He was serving as Minister of Steel in the second term of the Modi government. He was an Indian Administration Officer of Uttar Pradesh cadre and also served as principal secretary of Nitish Kumar in Bihar government. जदयू के प्रदेश अध्यक्ष उमेश कुशवाहा ने जो नोटिस आरसीपी सिंह को भेजा है, उसमें RCP सिंह ने जो संपत्ति खरीदी है उसका बिंदुवार जिक्र किया गया है. जदयू ने नोटिस में यह आरोप लगाया है कि आरसीपीसी सिंह ने नालंदा जिला के दो प्रखंड में 40 बीघा जमीन खरीदी और जमीन के इस खेल में दान में जमीन लेकर उसका खरीद बिक्री किया गया. इन सभी संपत्तियों का जिक्र चुनावी हलफनामे में नहीं किया गया जदयू ने एक और बड़ा आरोप आरसीपी सिंह पर लगाया कि उन्होंने जमीन के खरीद में अपनी पत्नी के नाम में भी हेराफेरी की है. हालांकि जदयू के द्वारा नोटिस भेजे जाने पर आरसीपीसी ने अभी तक कोई जवाब नहीं दिया है. मीडिया रिपोर्ट के अनुसार इस संपत्ति का ब्योरा जदयू के नेताओं ने जुटाया है. रिपोर्ट के अनुसार ज्यादातर जमीनें आरसीपी सिंह की पत्नी गिरजा सिंह और दोनों बेटियों लिपि सिंह, लता सिंह के नाम पर हैं. नोटिस में पूछा गया है कि नालंदा के दो साथियों का साक्ष्य के साथ परिवाद प्राप्त हुआ है. जिसमें कहा गया है कि आपके और आपके परिवार के नाम से वर्ष 2013 से 2022 तक अकूत अचल संपत्ति निबंधित की गई है. आरोप यह भी है कि आरसीपी सिंह ने 2016 के अपने चुनावी हलफनामे में इन संपत्तियों का जिक्र नहीं किया है. जेडीयू के पूर्व राष्ट्रीय अध्यक्ष आरसीपी सिंह ने पार्टी से इस्तीफा दे दिया है. पार्टी की प्राथमिक सदस्यता से इस्तीफा देने का ऐलान शनिवार को किया है. इस्तीफे में उन्होंने पार्टी के कुछ लोगों पर उनके खिलाफ साजिश करने का आरोप लगाया है. इसके साथ ही उन्होंने नया संगठन बनाने का संकेत भी दिया है. गौरतलब है जदयू के पूर्व राष्ट्रीय अध्यक्ष आरसीपी सिंह पर उनकी ही पार्टी ने गंभीर आरोप लगाते हुए नोटिस भेजा था. आरसीपी सिंह के खिलाफ कार्रवाई को लेकर एक बार फिर बिहार का राजनीतिक माहौल गरम हो गया. जदयू ने आरसीपी सिंह पर आरोप लगाया था कि उन्होंने पार्टी में रहते हुए अकूत संपत्ति बनाई है. JDU नेताओं ने RCP सिंह पर 9 साल में 58 प्लॉट खरीदने का गंभीर आरोप लगाया. जदयू ने आरसीपी सिंह को इस मामले में नोटिस भेजकर जवाब मांगा था.

Though Kushwaha has not mentioned the name of the party workers who made allegations against Singh and the members of his family, the JD(U)’s Rahui (Nalanda) block president Rakesh Mukhiya on Saturday came before media and said that allegations against Singh has been levelled by him. “All the lands mentioned in the party workers’ allegations were purchased in the names of my two daughters Lipi Singh and Lata Singh. The former is an IPS officer and latter is an advocate. The party workers have also submitted certain documentary evidence to support their allegations,” Kushwaha said in his letter. “Today, I am deeply sad because they have now gone to such a low-level to level allegation of corruption against my daughters and spouse. I will soon send my resignation letter,” Singh said while talking to media persons at his native village Mustafapur in Bihar’s Nalanda district on Saturday.
