इस अभियान के तहत सरकार ने 20 करोड़ घरों में झंडा फहराने का लक्ष्य तय किया है. 13 से 15 अगस्त के बीच जन भारत के साथ इस लक्ष्य को प्राप्त करने का सरकार का प्लान है. तिरंगा अभियान को लेकर पीएम नरेंद्र मोदी ने अपील करते हुए कहा कि हर घर तिरंगा हमें उन विरों की याद दिलायेगा, जिन्होंने स्वतंत्र भारत के लिए एक ध्वज का स्वपन्न देखा था. उन्होंने कहा हम उन विरों के सपने को पूरा करने के लिए इस अभियान को सफल बनाएंगे. केंद्र सरकार की ओर से 'आजादी का अमृत महोत्सव' के तहत 'हर घर तिरंगा' अभियान की शुरुआत की गई है. इसमें नागरिकों से भारत की आजादी के 75 वें वर्ष को चिह्नित करने के लिए अपने घर पर तिरंगा फहराने का आग्रह किया गया है. पिछले साल, केंद्र ने आजादी के 75 साल पूरे होने के उपलक्ष्य में 'आजादी का अमृत महोत्सव' पहल की घोषणा की थी. भारत आजादी का अमृत महोत्सव मना रहा है. 13 से 15 अगस्त तक यह अभियान चलाया जाएगा. इसके तहत देश भर के भारतीयों को अपने घरों में राष्ट्रीय ध्वज फहराने या अपनी आधिकारिक वेबसाइट पर हर घर तिरंगा अभियान में भाग लेने के लिए प्रोत्साहित किया जा रहा है. भारतीय स्वतंत्रता के 75 वें वर्ष को चिह्नित करने के लिए सभी पार्टियों के राजनीतिक दल झंडा फहरा रहे हैं. गृह मंत्री अमित शाह ने भी आज हर घर तिरंगा अभियान की शुरुआत की. शाह और उनकी पत्नी सोनल शाह ने अपने आवास पर तिरंगा फहराया.
