The Galaxy Z Fold 4 is Samsung's finest foldable and a photographer's dream with its S22 cameras and big-screen features.
Add S Pen support and decent battery life to the mix, and the Galaxy Z Fold 4 is a mighty smartphone and foldable. The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 doesn't feature expandable storage, though it's available with a starting capacity of 256GB, and that can be bumped up to 512GB or 1TB. IPX8 water resistance is also a great boon for Samsung's folding phones, and the Z Fold 4's hinge, which locks at almost any point across the 180º rotation, is also very impressive. The screen has 4,096 levels of pressure sensitivity, and when matched with an S Pen Pro or an S Pen Fold Edition, you can turn the inner display into a notebook. You can choose to leave the phone working in full-screen as standard, or it can use half the screen for your app, and the other half of the screen for tools – brightness, volume, screenshot, and even a trackpad. The Galaxy Z Fold 4's selfie cameras are an interesting mix – on the front is a 10MP traditional selfie camera with an f/2.2 lens and a 24mm wide angle. This prompts you to open up the Fold 4, and use the cover screen as a preview for the main camera. Samsung is known for its sharpened, lively shots, and the Z Fold 4's images are true to form. The small sensor is matched with an f/2.2 aperture and has a 123˚ field of view, which equates to a 12mm focal length. The rear cameras are almost identical to those of the Galaxy S22 and S22 Plus, with a wide, ultra-wide, and three times telephoto camera mix. There's a triple camera at the back, and across both screens are two selfie cameras, an under-display camera on the main screen, and a traditional punch hole front camera in the cover screen. So Samsung hasn't made a magical machine that can morph from a miniature smartphone into an expansive tablet, but the Z Fold 4 is still a mighty mix of design highlights.
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 relies on Android 12L as the heart of its reinvention, but is it enough? Here's our Galaxy Z Fold 4 review.
As you learn to use the Galaxy Z Fold 4 in its many different configurations, it will feel like a new and powerful tool time and time again. If you’re only counting the significant differences, the Galaxy Z Fold 3 is almost identical to the Galaxy Z Fold 4 outside of changes to the camera setup. Likewise, while the Galaxy Z Fold 4 has made great strides with its cameras, the Galaxy S22 Ultra is currently the [best camera phone in the business](/samsung-galaxy-s22-ultra-camera-test-vs-best-camera-phones-3132563/). Xiaomi’s Mix Fold 2 is cut from a similar cloth as Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold lineup, but it takes advantage of the brand’s new Leica partnership for the first time on a foldable. - Connectivity: The Galaxy Z Fold 4 packs the latest connectivity standards, with Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2 onboard. When it comes to benchmarks, the Galaxy Z Fold 4 has no problems putting up stellar numbers. Like its predecessor, the Galaxy Z Fold 4 supports These images are only a sample of what I captured during my time with the Galaxy Z Fold 4. The color recreation tends to fall on the saturated side, but I found the Galaxy Z Fold 4 offered slightly more natural shades than its Flip counterpart. The difference isn’t massive, but the Galaxy Z Fold 4 is a story of little progress.
If you've just got a Galaxy Z Fold 4, here are the settings and features you should look at first when settling into your new flexible smartphone.
Similar to the always-on display, the widgets accessible by tapping the clock on Samsung's lock screen let you check and adjust things like your music or next appointment without unlocking the phone. By toggling Find my Phone, you'll be able to see where it is by logging into your Samsung account through any browser and check the Z Fold's status. However you can change the color or even add a background image if you want something more interesting. Personally that looks too wide, and feels like a waste of the Z Fold 4's larger screen, but if that's how you wish to have it, Samsung will allow you. That can also include many of the Z Fold's default apps, as you can see above. It may not look as neat with two separate home screens, but it'll allow you to position apps and widgets on the inside of the phone more flexibly. If you would rather the Z Fold not use these multiview layouts, you can disable it with this option. However if you would prefer some continuity between the two, enabling cover screen mirroring applies your cover screen's home screens to your inner display, with two of them showing together at a time to make use of the extra width. This way, if you suddenly need to use the phone in its smaller form but need to keep an app like Google Maps open, you can do so without interruption. [Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4](https://www.tomsguide.com/reviews/samsung-galaxy-z-fold-4), you're no doubt excited to open up the phone (literally) and start adjust the settings to just how you like them. The settings we've recommended below will help the Z Fold 4 look and work in a way that suits you best. Or, you can opt to turn it on or off outright.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4: On August 10, Samsung unveiled the Galaxy Z Fold 4, a new addition to its ever-expanding line of high-end folding.
Folding the phone reveals the Samsung logo on the hinge, which is concealed when the phone is used in the unfolded state. According to this arrangement, Samsung wants you to use the cover screen to snap selfies while the 4MP camera is better suited for video conferencing. However, compared to the Fold 3, the camera has improved significantly, so we can’t really complain. When you first take the Galaxy Fold 4 out of the box and hold it in your hands, it feels luxurious. The Fold 4 has been fine-tuned to a T, offering customers a taste of the smartphones of the future. The phone is neatly placed within a plastic cover and is the first thing you’ll see when you open the box.
YouTuber Mark Spurrell, the owner of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4, has modified his Android-based foldable smartphone to create a faux Windows phone on the ...
The final modified Galaxy Z Fold 4 looked like a device running Windows Phone 8.1 when closed and Windows 10 when opened. He then used the Win-X Launcher for the tablet-size inner screen that converted it into a more modern Windows 10-esque desktop look. To make it work, Spurrell used a combination of two separate third-party Android launchers and a Bixby Routine with some tweaks to run a highly customized launcher on top of Android.
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 lives up to the pocket PC tag and has a ton of new features to justify its price of ₹1,54999.
As mentioned before, the camera app takes full advantage of the Flex mode by putting the gallery on the left side of the crease and the camera viewfinder and interface on the right. You can’t fully enjoy the full video on the screen either because of the colour shifting that takes place on the display when the phone is semi-folded. Further, because there’s no kickstand, you can’t watch full-screen content on the flexible display by keeping it on a surface. And when you fold the screen back and start using the app on the cover screen, the text spills from the side of the screen, and the only way to get it back to working normally is by restarting it. It’s extremely convenient, and we can’t wait to see the rendition of it on other tablets, although Xiaomi did a slightly different rendition of it in the Xiaomi Pad 5. So, you have to drag and drop an app icon on an area of the screen to get started. The cover display is, in fact, wider and shorter than the previous generations, and Samsung believes it feels much more like a regular smartphone. The Z Fold 4, as usual, has two displays – an exposed hard glass cover display on the front and a foldable display on the inside, both of which are AMOLED with 2K resolution. Also, if you’re a person who likes using the phone in bed, be prepared to get your nose smashed because it likes to fall over on your face due to the way its weight is balanced. Given the limited space within the Z Fold 4, it doesn’t heat up or throttles all that often, and performance is always on tap. But the tides have turned, and the Galaxy Z Fold 4 is a seriously durable, powerful and flexible luxury smartphone – the last part is extremely crucial, as it’s status quo more than anything. The frame and hinge of the phone are made of Armor Aluminum, just like the Z Fold 3, although because there’s less metal being used, the weight has dropped from 271 grams to 263 grams.

It has a lightning-fast Snapdragon chipset and an overall durable and performance-driven setup. It is both an excellent tablet and a great smartphone combined in a single device. There is also a full panel for settings and notifications. The process showed a folding phone having the Windows Phone tiles when closed. The process holds some promise for the versatility of the Galaxy Z Fold 4. [ Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4](https://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-z-fold-4/) could be in for a great run.
The Galaxy Z Fold 4 is an ultra-premium foldable smartphone with a nearly tablet-sized 7.6-inch screen with a starting price of Rs 154999.
This is the business phone, this is the swagger phone, this is the head turner phone. It is a good thing that you can still use the back camera in different ways to get over this delicate situation. In fact, this is a phone you keep away from your children. The front screen hasn’t seen any UI change and that could be something to work on for the next version. But every year it disappears a little more into the fold. After using the phone for a few days, I got the feeling this is a whole new UI made just for the unfolded Fold 4 screen, one that has not been seen even in And all this is possible because the phone has the top-of-the-line Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor which keeps this phone cool even with really stressful use cases. And, though I could not test it, this phone again works with the S-Pen stylus. But then the design is not always limited to the physical and that is where Samsung has put in some solid good work. With the preview option, creators can think of being a tad bit more innovative than their single-screen phone rivals. After having used the Fold 4 for well over a week, here is what I think of the most visible foldable phone in the market. Other than that Samsung has not really touched the design this time.

The one trick that Samsung has missed with the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold3 was the camera system. Mind you, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold3 and indeed the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold2 have held up well. The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold4 does very close to 6 hours of screen time (most of this being on the large foldable screen, mind you) and a 100% charged battery at 8am still holds just more than 20% charge by 8pm. The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold4 retains the 25-watt wired charging speeds, though wireless charging is slightly quicker at 15-watt instead of 11-watt. Neither do any of the improvements made the impact of the price tag on the wallet, any lesser. Here and now, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold4 is the lightest in this line of foldables, at 263 grams. The entry spec (12GB RAM + 256GB storage) variant of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold3 has a sticker price of around ₹1,39,999. That said, we have to point out the as yet unknown quantity that pertains to the longevity of foldable phones, and indeed this form factor that melds a phone and a tablet (well, sort of). Samsung has made some important changes with the interface to make better use of the display real estate that’s there. In particular, the unfolded tablet-esque format that the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold4 deploys. Less than a year later, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold3 followed, tipping the scales at 271 grams. The corrective Samsung Galaxy Z Fold2 from the latter half of 2020 weighed 282 grams.

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 excels both being a high-end flagship smartphone and a folding smartphone at the same time. 1,54,999, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 is not a cheap smartphone. I tested the Galaxy Z Fold 4 with Airtel and Jio networks, and the cellular reception was also excellent. The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 is a 5G-capable smartphone and the device also supports Bluetooth 5.2 and 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/ax Wi-Fi support. Not just that, the newer chip also makes the Galaxy Z Fold 4 a more power-efficient smartphone, and it does not get as hot as some of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC-powered phones. Samsung boasted a lot about the camera capabilities of the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and I have to say, it does have a well-balanced triple camera setup. The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 is also an excellent video recording device with pro video mode. The 50MP optically stabilized primary camera on the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 just takes some of the best pictures in almost every lighting condition. Another nitpicking that I have to do with the Z Fold 4 is the aspect ratio of the display. The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 packs a 7.6-inch folding primary display with 2176 x 1812 (QXGA+) resolution and a variable refresh rate of 1Hz to 120Hz. On top of that, the back panel and the cover display of the Galaxy Z Fold 4 are protected using the Corning Gorilla Glass Victus+. The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 has a 6.2-inch cover display with 2316 x 904 (HD+) resolution with a variable refresh rate.
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4's price in India starts at Rs 1,54999. Can it offer the ultimate smartphone experience in this rage? This review will clear your ...
The Galaxy Z Fold 4 is more usable and practical than its predecessors. Samsung always uses the latest-generation Qualcomm chipsets for each Galaxy Z Fold phone, and the Galaxy Z Fold 4 is no exception. There's not much to complain about the display quality of the Galaxy Z Fold 4, since Samsung is one of the pioneers in this segment. If you have the budget for the Galaxy Z Fold 4, I won't shy away from recommending it. The Galaxy Z Fold 4 also supports wireless charging, but I couldn't test that feature. The Galaxy Z Fold 4 remains heavy to carry, but it did not take me long enough to get used to the weight. Of course, Samsung isn't impervious to the global economic situation and the market, and it is targeting the Galaxy Z Fold 4 at a niche audience looking for the ultimate productivity-focused smartphone. The battery unit on the Galaxy Z Fold 4 remains unchanged at 4,440mAh, though Samsung claims a longer battery life due to upgraded variable refresh rate and other tweaks. [my first impressions](https://www.indiatoday.in/technology/features/story/samsung-galaxy-z-fold-4-quick-review-big-changes-with-an-equally-big-price-tag-1986682-2022-08-11), the Galaxy Z Fold 4 looks more or less similar to its predecessor in terms of build. Physically, the Galaxy Z Fold 4 has a slimmer hinge, narrower bezels, and wider cover screen area when compared to the Galaxy Z Fold 3 from last year. In a nutshell, the Galaxy Z Fold 4 is more practical than its siblings, but it still carries an insanely high price tag. The Galaxy Z Fold 4 is the first folding smartphone to ship with Android 12L, which is Google's newest brainchild for tablets and foldables.
There is more to Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 than just the dual screen form factor. Here are some cool tips and tricks for this new Samsung phone.
So, if you feel the fatigue, just fold the phone and you will find the same app running on the cover screen. You can simply enable 'mirror cover screen' option and the outer display will be mirrored on the inside. The best way to counter this is by enabling the option to continue apps on the cover screen. You can enable edge lighting from the 'Brief pop up' option under the Settings menu. When enabled, it basically tracks you and moves the sensor to ensure that you are always at the centre of the screen. This is a feature that I have used on previous foldable phones too, but it is useful and finds a place on the list. Samsung has upgraded the camera system on the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and has used the same sensors as the flagship Galaxy S22 and S22+. On top of that, you can drag and open two floating windows on the screen -- all without having to close the primary app. One of the best parts about owning a Z Fold 4 is the luxury of trying out Samsung Labs features. It sits at the bottom of the inner screen and allows you to switch instantly between multiple apps by just tapping on the icon. You can drag apps to open three apps at the same time. The new task bar can be enabled from the settings menu.
The Galaxy Z Fold 4 is shockingly addictive. There are no two aways about it.
