The VFX is non-stop (at one point, a troll-like army appears, and disappears), the blaring music keeps wanting to bludgeon us into submission, and we are left yearning for magic. And that truly is the problem with the film, which is meant to be the most expensive Bollywood has produced. The target is, naturally, our hero Shiva and Isha, another name for his faithful Parvati, and a small subsect of people (Brahmansh) quietly residing in the high reaches of the Himalayas, as defenders of the faith, and warriors armed with weapons with primal powers. One of the better portions involves Shiva being put through his paces by the elder Guru (Amitabh Bachchan), as he (Shiva) plays, literally, with fire, and the screen lights up. Making Brahmastra even more special are Alia and Ranbir - the souls of the film. While the story of Brahmastra was never really meant to be simple, it's the magic of VFX (all made in India), treatment of the astras, and grandeur of everything surrounding the characters that make it a visual spectacle and truly a cinematic experience to be enjoyed on the big screen. And talking of fighting scenes, the action choreography is next level and on par with some of the best we see in films like RRR and Baahubali. Oh, there's also another veteran actor, a member of Brahmansh, who has been given exactly two dialogues and has been royally wasted in this ensemble cast. Shiva (Ranbir Kapoor) is a DJ who falls for Isha (Alia Bhatt) at first sight and as their romance blossoms, his quest to find the reason behind his strange connection with fire becomes even stronger. Brahmastra: Part One - Shiva is a love story at the core, but it soon takes form of a fight between the good and the evil when the energies that rule this universe take control.

इस साल अबतक बॉलीवुड में बनी करीब 27 फिल्में पर्दे पर रीलीज हुई हैं. इनमें फिल्म को 1 स्टार से ढाई स्टार दिए गए हैं. बॉलीवुड से जुड़ी कुछ वेबसाइट के अनुसार पहले दिन के लिए ही अबतक 3.5 लाख के करीब टिकट बिक चुके हैं. सोशल मीडिया पर अलग अलग चले रहे रिव्यू और अलग अलग समीक्षकों के रिव्यू हालांकि कमजोर नजर आ रहे हैं. इस मूवी को बनाने में जहां 10 साल के करीब वक्त लगा है, वहीं इस पर 410 करोड़ रुपये खर्च हुए हैं. रिव्यू में कहा गया है कि अयान मुखर्जी ने कहानी की तुलना में पटकथा पर अधिक ध्यान केंद्रित किया है क्योंकि हर फ्रेम एक पेंटिंग है.

ये फिल्म अपने ग्राफिक्स की वजह से बच्चों को काफी पसंद आ सकती है और वीएफएक्स के शौकीनों को भा सकती है. फिल्म में कुछ नया करने की कोशिश की गई है और इसके लिए अयान मुखर्जी की तारीफ होनी चाहिए क्योंकि हम अक्सर कहते हैं कि बॉलीवुड वाले कुछ नया क्यों नहीं करते. आपको कई बार पता नहीं चलता कि ये कौनसा अस्त्र कहां से आया और कहां चला गया और कई बार आपको बोरियत अस्त्र भी आकर लगता है. फिल्म को छोटा किया जा सकता था और अगर ऐसा होता तो फिल्म बेहतर लगती. आपको भी इस फिल्म के दौरान कई बार ऐसा लगता है. कई बार तो इतनी आग दिखती है कि लगता है भाई फिल्म ही फूंक दोगे क्या लेकिन फिर कुछ ऐसा नजर आ जाता है कि आप चौंक जाते हैं.
