Oke Okka Jeevitham is a sci-fi drama that pulls off its premise emotionally without depending on graphics and avoiding complexity.

The VFX is good for the scale of this film. Especially, the portions involving the kids will bore and the movie moves to the Pre-climax in a rush. The twist that comes at the interval is interesting and keeps the audience engaged. But then, the movie is predominantly a mother sentiment film but the sci-fi element is used as a base to make it happen. He is right away into the business by going into the story very quickly. The first half of the film is a decent watch. The storyline is very simple but unique. It is a smart and appreciable move to keep the VFX limited. She is an excellent choice because she adds to the freshness to the story and brings the sensitivity to the entire emotional track in the movie. The kids who played the roles of the three friends are good. The character requires him to play a character who constantly feels the pain inside. It is a blend of Sci-Fi and Mother sentiment.

However, Kanam is a film which makes you all the more forgiving of these flaws. Three friends, Aadhi (Sharwanand), Pandi (Ramesh Tilak), and Kadhir (Sathish) get a second chance at life after a chance encounter with a reclusive scientist Paul (Nasser), who offers to send them back 20 years in time in return for a favour. The play with time is intended to drive forward a bigger point here: the inevitability of fate.

Oke Oka Jeevitham (Kanam in Tamil) Movie Review: While the film doesn't offer magical surrealism (it should have), its themes make up for the shortcoming.

Amala Akkineni as Aadhi's mother is brilliant in every scene; her approach to the role is devoid of over-the-top acting that a lot of onscreen mothers have come to throw at the audience. How the worsening of the situation for the key players affects their lives is narrated at a leisurely pace. A peculiar feature of this time-travel sci-fi drama (it is a drama in the sense that a myriad of emotions are the bedrock of its story) is that it doesn't shy away from becoming a feel-good movie more than an eventful script in the first hour. 'Maaripoye' is a song that captures the quirks of the unreal nature of the story. You can say, with some caveats, that the film is not about three principal characters, but six of them. Its first major attempt at offering an element that was not seen in the trailer of the film comes at the interval.

Though 'Oke Oka Jeevitham' is a time-travel film, it steers clear of the science – it does not focus on the theories of time-travel or quantum physics or ...

The other two people who are aware of it are Aadhi and Chaitu, who are trapped along with him in the past. Oke Oka Jeevitham suggests a moral lesson that science cannot beat fate and that no matter how hard you try to alter your past, your future cannot be affected by it. Time travel films are often complex and it requires a certain amount of courage and skill to attempt the genre, as it runs the risk of oversimplification or overcomplication. While he easily convinces us that the story is taking place in 1998, the repetition of archival footage does make it jarring after a point. In fact, it has a stunning twist before concluding the first half, but the writing gets weak in the second half. He has not been able to outgrow the fears he’s faced since childhood, just like he has not outgrown the friendship of Chaitu (Priyadarshi) and Srinu (Vennela Kishore), his childhood friends.

While the film did consume a lot of time to set-up, the climax makes you forget all the flaws you might have pointed out with the screenplay. Another scene is when Sharwanand, Ramesh Thilak and Kadhir run from the police who chase them in a jeep. However, when those characters grow old and meet the same younger versions in the future due to the timeline swap, they do not seem recognize the kids. The sequences that involve Amala and Sharwanand are truly heart-wrenching. The story revolves around three friends, Aadhi (Sharwanand) struggling musician who is not over his mother's demise, Pandi (Ramesh Thilak) who has an inferiority complex for not continuing his education, and Kadhir (Sathish) who regrets avoiding a school crush for unrealistic reasons. I think one of the strongest emotions in human life is regret.
