BHU students submit memorandum after namaz row (Hindustan Times)

The move came after a photo of a youth offering namaz at the Sir Sundarlal Hospital, Institute of Medical Sciences (IMS), BHU, went viral.

Outside the lab, we saw a youth who was offering namaz. Rajesh Singh, public relations officer, BHU, said: “I am not aware about the incident. They also demanded that the university put up notices to make people aware that offering namaz at public places in the university is not allowed.

BHU Student Group Seek Ban on Offering Namaz Inside Campus (News18)

The row erupted after an image of a youth offering namaz at the Sir Sunderlal Hospital, Institute of Medical Science (IMS), BHU, went viral.

A few students at GD Goenka University in Gurugram filed a complaint with the registrar against the students, who offered prayers on the football field of the university. The person in the photo is said to be offering prayer on the first floor of the hospital. The memorandum, submitted to the chief proctor’s office, on September 15, also demanded that notices be put up by the administration at various places prohibiting the offering of namaz.
