Sinam movie review: Good thriller with a controversial take on ... (Hindustan Times)

Sinam movie review: Arun Vijay-starrer is an effective thriller with a strong emotional core but a rather controversial take on the concept of retribution ...

It's 2022 and filmmakers are still writing stories where the hero, a cop in this case, believes in the concept of retribution. Coming from director Kumaravelan, who made the highly impressive and moving Haridas – a film about autism a few years ago, it’s natural to expect more sensitivity in the writing. A few weeks into his suspension, Pari is asked to join back and he’s handed over the case of the double homicide. He gets suspended after he breaks the hand of the investigating officer in a heated argument. Throughout the first half, we get a lot of scenes that establish the bond between the couple. The film definitely needed more sensitivity in the writing as it openly encourages retribution.

'Sinam' movie review: Arun Vijay's film is vile and uninspiring (The Hindu)

'Sinam', meaning rage, refers to Arun Vijay's emotional state. It is also the same emotion we feel towards the film.

The cherry on top of all that went down in Sinam is the dialogue the hero utters in the end to justify his anger, and why it’s important to instill fear among sexual predators. . In a day and age where people talk about the possibility of alternate justice or restorative justice, the importance of teaching sex education to minors, and methods that can prevent rape, this is a reminder nobody asked for. Sinam is the kind of movie that tires you to the extent you begin to not care to count its flaws. In a scene, Pari writes all the reasons that can cause a murder — like revenge, money, and sex — and circles on revenge. Generic scenes are stacked one after the other, and given all the information one has in hand, it's not hard to guess what's about to come from a mile away. In retrospect, this visual of Pari making meat patties out of goons nags you because this is a film that takes itself quite seriously and wants you to believe that Pari is, or at least was, the ultimate symbol of justice.

Sinam Movie Review: This anti-rape 'message' film punishes its ... (Cinema Express)

The alarming lack of novelty in Sinam is another injustice that never lets the film soar above mediocrity.

(I'll make you lose your life) But the one thing that clearly got lost in Sinam is a well-written script. While it is understandable that Sinam aims to be an emotionally stirring film, the absence of silence and a subtler score only disconnects the audience from the film. The alarming lack of novelty in Sinam is another injustice that never lets the film soar above mediocrity.

Sinam Review - A Passable Whodunit Flick! (Movie Crow)

Sinam Review - A Passable Whodunit Flick!Ashwin RamSinam is a cop crime thriller starring Arun Vijay and Palak Lalwani in the lead roles. The film is.

Sinam gets the base plot right and Arun Vijay is a fitting cop. The climax is loud and so on-the-face. The emotional angle is weakly portrayed, so the impact is absent. There is zero correlation between the first hour and the latter. Song-wise, the track named ‘Nenjellam’ is so beautiful and the music director has used it well in different situations of the flow. Arun Vijay is a perfect fit for the cop role, his physique is ideal and the clean shaven look suits him well.

Sinam Review: Arun Vijay Is Earnest In this Meandering Cop Drama (Film Companion)

Though the screenplay is quite predictable and slow, the solid performances of the actors make Sinam a decent watch.

Kaali Venkat is a breath of fresh air in a film that depicts a lovely friendship between the two men in khaki. Although Sinam fits perfectly within the regular cop-movie template in Kollywood, it manages to get creative with the way it handles the double homicide. The songs, too, add to the film’s slow screenplay and work only in parts. And smartly enough, this story technique also ends up being a major clue in the film later on. For instance, when he is forced to let go of criminals by a corrupt superior or when the latter puts his family in an unpleasant situation, Pari doesn’t back down. This is apparent in a scene where Pari and Madhangi recite bedtime stories to their daughter.

Sinam review. Sinam Tamil movie review, story, rating - IndiaGlitz.com (IndiaGlitz.com)

Sinam - A simple and engaging thriller. Nowadays, small-scale films often land in trouble and get a delayed release after a few years.

In Shabir's music, the songs were passable and the background scoring was pulsating. The maker took a simple plot, stayed within the bounds and made a short and crisp movie with a good social message as well. Director GNR Kumaravelan, who had a setback with the 2016 film 'Wagah', has done a good job in Sinam. Also, the climax is unconvincing. They become outdated in the meantime and end up as a disappointing experience to the fans. It milks the audience's emotions rather than giving a practical and lawful conclusion to the conflict. The film starts off with cliche scenes and moves at a slow pace in a tested template. On the downside, the logics in Sinam are hardly believable and Arun Vijay turns preachy in the climax which felt so outdated. Directed by GNR Kumaravelan, it is made as an investigative whodunit thriller in which Arun Vijay plays a cop. Arun Vijay delivers a stunning performance once again. Pari Venkat (Arun Vijay) is an angry and righteous cop who values justice more than anything else. Arun Vijay starrer 'Sinam' is one such thriller movie that was released in theatres today after facing multiple delays.

Sinam Movie Review: Arun Vijay's Sinam Turns Out To Be A Boring ... (Filmibeat)

Though Director GNR Kumaravelan's previous film Wagah didn't do well at the box-office, movie buffs and critics still believed in him because of his ...

Pari Venkat starts his investigation to identify the murderer and the details of the man who got killed along with his wife. Shabir scored well with his background music but failed to impress with the songs. The trailer of the film was too good and raised the expectation among the audience, but was the film up to the mark? At the same time the police department gets a call to investigate the suicide case of a husband and wife . Arun Vijay's stereotype police look didn't work because in reality, it is difficult to find such a muscular police sub-inspector withsix-pack. Pari Venkat immediately rushes to the spot and gets shocked by seeing the dead bodies of his wife Madhangi and an unknown middle-aged man, together.
