[Christian Gytkjaer](https://football-italia.net/player/christian-gytkjaer/) came off the bench and immediately turned a free header over the bar, while [Carlos Augusto](https://football-italia.net/player/carlos-augusto/) and Gytkjaer fired straight at Perin. Monza 1-0 Juventus: Player ratings as 10-man Bianconeri ... (90min)

Match report and player ratings for Juventus as Monza secure 1-0 win over Old Lady.

Manager: Massimiliano Allegri - 2/10 - Allegri wasn't the one on the pitch putting in such an abysmal performance, but he does coach and pick the players. [Danilo](https://www.90min.com/players/danilo-luiz-da-silva) - 4/10 - Didn't do enough to stop teasing crosses from being played from out wide. Starved of service, but fought tooth and nail for anything that came his way - which wasn't a lot. Perhaps a straight red was harsh, but Di Maria was asking for trouble. Dany Mota then worked his way into the box and got onto the end of a smart pass moments later, but flicked the ball marginally wide of the net. Outstanding hold-up play from Vlahovic saw him wrestled to the floor in order to create a rare, three-on-one counter attacking chance for his side after 68 minutes. Unfortunately, De Sciglio wasn't helped out by his teammates and had to sit in following Di Maria's sending off. Gianluca Caprari retrieved the ball on the edge of the box following Federico Gatti's poor pass after 50 minutes, but blasted the ball over. And while the visitors were able to venture forward somewhat more frequently, they constantly lacked any real quality or urgency. Suddenly, heading into the break goalless felt like a bonus for the Old Lady. A rare venture forward saw Dusan Vlahovic connect with a pass from Mattia De Sciglio after 28 minutes, but it was never beating goalkeeper Michele Di Gregorio. Failure to put away big chances should've been the key to punishing an otherwise impressive Monza, but it wasn't.

Juventus 0 - Monza 1: Initial reaction and random observations (Black & White & Read All Over)

Facing the team that was bottom of the table that had the worst attack and the worst defense in Serie A, Juve couldn't do much of anything right. The result was ...

- Juventus played a 5-3-1 for much of the post-Di Maria sending off period of time. VAFFANCULLO!!!!!” right before halftime was the signature/chef’s kiss kind of moment and based on the BWRAO Twitter mentions, not only did a lot of people hear it but a lot of people were totally OK with it. - This was a game in which the field mics were HOT and picking up so much of what fans sitting near them were saying the whole time. Along with all of the turnovers and bad first touches, of course. And when you consider it’s about to be a hellish kind of schedule when they get back from the international break, it’s not like things are going to get easier at all. - This has to be the final nail in Max Allegri 2.0’s coffin, right? That’s bad to say about any team at any part of the season. But it’s especially bad to say about a team when they’re all of seven games into the new league campaign. The thing about this certain game is that, despite all of those injuries (and there were a lot of them!), you were hoping for some sort of response following the debacle that was the midweek loss to Benfica. There was absolutely nothing of note going forward, there were moments in which Monza were absolutely dominating play — they finished with 60 percent of the possession! But when it comes to Allegri’s status, you just don’t know because the Juventus front office just hasn’t given you any kind of signal that there is some sort of change coming in the near future. Bunga Bunga himself its first-ever win in Italy’s top flight and again sent Juve players over to the curva to be berated by whistles and likely a fair amount of obscenities.

Juventus could face stern competition for Benfica's Alex Grimaldo (JuveFC)

With the ever-so declining Alex Sandro on his way out of the club, Juventus should have added a left-back to Max Allegri’s squad last summer. [TuttoJuve](https://www.tuttojuve.com/calciomercato/grimaldo-possibile-sfida-a-due-con-l-inter-614848), the Bianconeri are now engaged in a duel against their arch rivals Inter who are also looking to add Grimaldo to the fold. The 26-year-old is now running on an expiring contract, hence, the Eagles could be willing to sell come January in order to register a profit rather than seeing the player leave as a free agent next summer.

Allegri risks being fined by Juventus for revealing 'chat' - Football Italia (Football Italia)

Juventus were not aware of Massimiliano Allegri's 'chat' with Corriere della Sera journalist Mario Sconcerti and he could be fined for his comments.

Allegri’s position is becoming fairly untenable in Turin but it’s hard to imagine the Old Lady dismissing him just yet. The 55-year-old Italian coach did not hold back in his detailed talk with Sconcerti yesterday, trying to explain the team’s issues this season and drawing attention to their problematic injury crisis. Whilst it was suggested by Allegri that this was simply a chat with a friend and not a media interview, the club were unaware of his decision and were not impressed.

Serie A 2022-23: Monza Hand 10-Man Juventus Surprise Defeat ... (Outlook India)

It is the first time since February 1955 that Juventus, Roma and both Milan teams have lost on the same day in Serie A.

Udinese continued its surprising start to the season as it recorded its fifth straight win to lift it to third in the standings. Dest had featured in both Champions League matches for Milan but was playing his first game in the Italian league. Mourinho became even more infuriated and had to be held back by a member of his staff. The Bianconeri were perhaps expecting an easier match at Monza, which was winless and had conceded 14 goals in its six games. It was unbeaten in Serie A but had only won two of its opening six matches. Simone Inzaghi’s Inter side was earlier beaten 3-1 at Udinese, for its third loss of the season.

Di Maria sees red in first half of Monza vs Juventus - Football Italia (Football Italia)

Angel Di Maria has been sent off in the first half of Juventus' away match against Monza after lashing out at defender Armando Izzo.

Di Maria was playing through the pain in today’s match, gritting his teeth to try and help Juventus grind out a positive result, but things have not gone to plan. He is likely to get more than just a one-match suspension due to violent conduct. This was the Argentinian forward’s first red card since Nice’s 3-1 win over Paris Saint-Germain back in April 2017, when he saw red in the dying minutes of the match.
