तभी, चलते-चलते उस लड़के हमें रोका और बताने लगा कि यहीं पर सैफई महोत्सव होता था। वहां बड़ा सा स्टेडियम था। जैसे ही हम वहां रुके। आसपास मौजूद लोग हमारे पास आ गए। उन्होंने हमें अपने गांव की खूबियां बताईं। सब एकसाथ बोल रहे थे ये सब मुलायम सिंह यादव के कारण हुआ था। फिर पूरा दिन उस गांव को देखने और लोगों से बातचीत के बाद स्टोरी फाइल करने में बीत गया। शाम होते ही गांव बिजली की रोशनी से चकाचौंध हो गई। हर तरफ लाइट की अच्छी व्यवस्था थी। आसपास की दुकानों पर भारी भीड़ देखने को मिल रही थी। तभी दूर जाती एक महिला से हमने पूछा कि क्या आप यहीं रहती हैं? यहां सैफई महोत्सव भी होता है। वो कहां होता है? तभी एक चौराहे पर सैफई का रास्ता पूछने के लिए हम रुके। वहां 21-22 साल के लड़के से हमने पूछा कि भाई सैफई जाना है। उसने मुस्कुराते हुई कहा, सैफई में आपका स्वागत है। मैं अपनी गाड़ी से नीचे उतर रहा था। उसकी बात सुनने के बाद मेरे मुंह से निकला भाई ये तो शहर जैसा लग रहा है। तब उस लड़के ने बड़े गर्व से कहा, यूं ही ये नेताजी का गांव नहीं है भइया। मैं जो रास्ते में सोच रहा था उस छवि के बिल्कुल उलट था सैफई। मैं गाड़ी से उतरकर उचक-उचककर चारों तरफ कौतुहल के साथ निहार रहा था।
