This is not my day. This is not your day. This is nobody's day. The trauma is not unfounded. At another point, she goes from a bloodbath in a mansion to a snowy cemetery in the mountains. By now, a livid Omar is out to kill this pesky agent Durga, and things go South (or Middle East) when poor Mirza gets caught in this chaos.
Omar Khaled (Sharad Kelkar), a terrorist, had attacked the Indian Parliament 20 years ago, and Durga is sent to kill him. That is when she meets Ali and the ...
Clearly, this is only a convenient scene to fill in the gaps for the viewer. In another scene, she has to figure out the route to a destination. There is a scene before the climax where Durga fights with a bunch of henchmen who are protecting Omar. The whole sequence is shot from a first-person POV, like in a video game. So basically, you will feel like you are playing counter strike, the only difference is that this shooter (Durga) has manicured nails. So basically, she does a 10-minute monologue, where she is explaining how the agent tricked them. She put the pin back in and decided not to kill Bakshi. To add to my shock, Durga comes out of this place and drives a car! Before she is about to kill him, she is shot twice by another man trying to protect Bakshi. She chases him down after fighting a bunch of goons, and when she finally reaches him, he is in a basement. Don’t judge me for this assumption, Bollywood is full of people with this full beard, sharp features, and dark hair look, so much so that they’ve all started looking the same! Parineeti Chopra plays a spy out to double cross a double agent in this inexorably dull, unrelentingly unimaginative espionage drama.
As if anxious to drive a nail deep into the coffin of Hindi cinema and bury it, in the absolute end, the heroine is made to spout some awfully clichéd lines about how Durga is the form that every woman takes to right wrongs blah blah blah and that every time the Tiranga is under threat, she will take that form again. Vetticad is an award-winning journalist and author of The Adventures of an Intrepid Film Critic. Therefore it is to be noted that in a decade when several Hindi films have sought to cash in on what appears to be the dominant mood in India by peddling anti-Muslim, anti-minorities sentiments and screaming deshbhakti, Code Name: Tiranga has boarded that bandwagon but its heart is not in it despite the extended revisitation of Vande Mataram, the hyperbolic portrayal of the dushman desh’s evil designs and other clichés. Code Name: Tiranga is so generic in terms of its storytelling style and story that recounting the plot feels like a waste of time. This is, after all, a film about the love between a Durga and a Mirza. In such a context, it is heartening to see a Hindi film showing a Hindu woman in love with a Muslim man, and this writing decision is nothing short of courageous in the present political scenario. This cannot have been a coincidence, considering that in patriarchy’s view, women are the property of the community they were born into and are later lost to them as ownership passes to the community of the person they marry. [PK](https://annavetticadgoes2themovies.blogspot.com/2014/12/review-310-pk.html) (2014) earned the wrath of fundamentalists because it defied this safe formula by having an Indian Hindu woman fall in love with a Pakistani Muslim man. Code Name: Tiranga drove me to tears for this reason and because it is one of the most boring movies I have seen in what ranks as one of the worst years that Bollywood has ever had. Having cast Parineeti Chopra as an undercover agent working for India’s Research and Analysis Wing, the makers of Code Name: Tiranga shoot her so poorly that there is not enough evidence by the end of this inexorably dull, unrelentingly unimaginative espionage drama that she is indeed capable of action and that she did not have a stunt double standing in for her for the most part. Down the decades, in Hindi films that have been touted as liberal for featuring inter-community romances, the man in the relationship has been Hindu and the Muslim or Christian partner has been the woman in most cases. But the camera angles chosen to shoot her in [Code Name: Tiranga](https://www.firstpost.com/tag/code-name-tiranga) are so mindless that this film fails to serve as a showreel for other interested producers.

The film was shot during the Covid pandemic. In Code Name: Tiranga, there are moments here and there that are thrilling. I can understand that things might still be happening that way but the material can be handled differently, isn’t it? This is not a part where the filmmaker or the actor tries to show that a girl can do everything a guy can (the voice-over at the end seemed unnecessary, though). Harrdy does well as the half-Indian half-Turkish doctor deployed in pre-Taliban Afghanistan by the UN. The film starts well with the romantic track between Parineeti Chopra and Harrdy Sandhu.
