With a whole lot of flaws, Mismatched season 2 manages to not sink but the future deserves more to sail. But treatment that angle gets is so out of focus that it never hits the way it should and add to it that it ends up in a dance number which we have to also consider as redemption for a very arrogant character. I understand the audience of the show doesn’t watch it as critically, and the makers have catered to them. Imagine developing Rannvijay and Vidya’s angle more rather than indulging in his past (and that is the most lazy part of the show, even the laziest character). The season 2 stands true to the essence of the predecessor and does just that. Vihaan Samat gets more in season 2 and he brings out the vulnerability well. The first season kind of introduced the world that was also kind of half-edged and who all live in it. The best thing about his direction is that it exists in a sweet spot where there is a lot of audience for it. The main power lies in the last three episodes where as a team they create episodes that hook us and makes us invest. Dhaliwal and team try to highlight the jest of our generation to ace everything, have the world at their feet, and have strong internet on their phones. I know that’s what it was supposed to do, but there was also a kind of realization in the makers about the content they were creating. The youngsters now have to sort things out while focusing on building the apps and a career.
The proceedings are so synthetic that the storytelling ends up coming last, which means that the second season of Mismatched unfolds without any semblance ...
I can only hope that the show’s third season isn’t just greenlit on the assumption of the potential the show could have and actually demand that from its makers. Follow us on [also read] [Entertainment](https://www.firstpost.com/category/entertainment) [Rahul Nair’s Eternally Confused And Eager For Love Makes it in top 10 of Screen Rant](https://www.firstpost.com/entertainment/rahul-nairs-eternally-confused-and-eager-for-love-makes-it-in-top-10-of-screen-rant-11401681.html) One of the standout things of the first season was just how easy it was to fall in love with both actors falling in love with each other. In comparison, Samat and Koli manage to conjure a believable chemistry that keeps things going for a while, although the effect is diluted by Samat’s acute expression-less emoting. [Prajakta Koli](https://www.firstpost.com/tag/prajakta-koli)), the nerdy damsel-in-distress and Rishi ( [Rohit Saraf](https://www.firstpost.com/tag/rohit-saraf)), the naive believer of one true love, their fractured relationship is capped off by the fact that Dimple ended up kissing her classmate Harsh ( [Vihaan Samat](https://www.firstpost.com/tag/vihaan-samat)) in a moment of weakness. In the universe of Mismatched, forgiveness and romantic interest are always around the corner (there are at least three instances this season when a character just happens to find someone interested in them). It’s hard to remain invested in Dimple and Rishi’s love story, anyway stacked with contrivances (the writers go as far as to suggest that the two are star-crossed lovers) when Saraf and Koli boast no chemistry at all. As is standard with the second season, not one minute is spent on showing us her professional genius; instead the show just tells us that she is one and expects us to buy it. Even if you ignore the potential case of grooming that such an unequal power dynamic could manifest in this romantic coupling, it’s frankly impossible to neglect how the makers turn Banerjee’s character into a trope. If a show is to be assessed on how compellingly it translates its ideas from the page to the screen, then Much of it stems from the show’s hesitance to examine the darker, selfish impulses of its characters without sugarcoating it. By which I mean that characters in the show aren’t allowed to exist unless they prove a point — mental health is important, body image issues are real, queer romance needs its spotlight, social media is a lie, NRI fuckboys fall in love too, losing your virginity isn’t a big deal, everyone deserves a second chance at love and so on and so forth.
Mismatched Season 2 is back with Dimple, Rishi, and their entire 'will they won't they' narrative and so much more on Netflix.
Season 2 holds the burden of carrying forwarding the nostalgia Season 1 created, giving viewers sweet comfort and a trip down memory lane. Jugal Hansraj plays the role of Rishi’s father and will have a special appearance in multiple episodes. It’s nice to see Harsh’s character arch developing from just an NRI brat who joined the course to get away from his grandparents and for high-speed download of ‘naughty’ content to now helping Dimple in her efforts to work on the app, supporting her when she gets panic attacks and respects and stand-up for his grandparents in front of his friends. At the same time, Rishi is disheartened to see Dimple passing on his best friend Namrata Bidasaria’s (Devyani Shorey) secret of being queer to her roommate and Namrata’s love interest Celina Matthews (Muskkaan Jaferi). Continuing from the next morning of the big drama, Season 2 sees Dimple and Harsh getting closer and together investigating the one who leaked the app. The last season ended with a fight between Dimple Ahuja (Prajakta Koli) and Rishi Singh Shekhawat (Rohit Saraf) because Dimple’s app leaked.

What date and time will season 2 of the Indian coming-of-age rom-com series Mismatched release for OTT streaming worldwide?
When we shot season 1, the only thing that we had in mind was that we wanted to love what we were creating and we wanted to have fun while it lasted. [separate](https://www.ottplay.com/news/mismatched-season-2-jugal-hansraj-to-play-this-role-in-rohit-saraf-prajakta-kolis-netflix-series/4756d43a98616) Instagram posts, Hansraj simply put “Okay but are you excited now?”, “Shaken, Not Stirred” and “Game. Shooting season 1 was fun but shooting season 2 was much more meaningful for me because I knew how much the audience wanted it. Whilst Netflix has not confirmed a specific release time, season 1 released at 12:30 PM IST back in 2020. There has not been a day ever since that we’ve not been asked ‘when is season 2 of Mismatched releasing?’.. The kind of love team Mismatched has received for the past two long years is honestly something we all still find very hard to wrap our heads around.” – Rohit Saraf and Prajakta Koli, via
Netflix's Mismatched Season 2 is better and wiser than the first. Created by Akarsh Khurana, it has definitely grown up, as have its characters.
The assigned role of a ‘sex goddess’ and feeling pressured to be thinner and more desirable to her boyfriend Krish Katyal (Abhinav Sharma) highlight the inherent body image issues that social media generates. It is a difficult task to be breezy and also deal with issues that plague Gen Z. However, because the original premise of an 18-year-old wanting to marry is a shaky one, and the love story itself doesn’t feel compelling enough. It highlights how mental health issues take a village, not just to get better but also to be addressed in the first place. The season ended with a cliffhanger–Dimple kissing Harsh spontaneously, who comes to comfort her post her fallout. The actor is a dependable character in the wild medley of emotions that courses through the episodes.
'Mismatched' Season 2 Review: Prajakta Koli Prajakta Koli, Rohit Saraf, and Rannvijay are back in this endearing, coming-of-age show.
Its ability to keep things light-hearted and also serious adds to the overall charm of the show. Because the truth is worth it.) For instance, Celina (Muskkan Jaferi) is cornered due to the weight of her insecurities, making her both relatable and redeemable. This lover's quarrel also furnishes the show with a fair bit of pining, longing and intense gazes. The culprit who sold off Dimple’s app idea is yet to be uncovered. And the intrinsic familiarity the show affords makes it that much more watchable.

I wrote the music video script while I was making the song, and I could visualise the video from the get-go; dedicated to my grandfather who passed away a few years back and my grandmother who passed away when I was only two years old. Hanita Bhambri adds, “‘KTMBK’ was a very unexpected collaboration because Zaeden had already written his part but wanted to accentuate it with a female vocal and we got in touch, wrapped up the project so quickly that now it feels like a blur! Speaking about the integration, Zaeden says, “I think ‘KTMBK’ is a perfect fit for Mismatched Season 2 as it beautifully captures the essence of Rishi (Rohit Saraf) and Dimple’s (Prajakta Koli) character arc.

Saraf and Koli, playing the leads, look adorable as a button together, and although I didn’t care much for Rishi’s fling, Harsh is a sight for sore eyes. With complicated feelings and issues at the helm, Mismatched season 2 tries to discuss every topic. Regardless, Mismatched season 2, unlike its predecessor, doesn’t give you the same irritation that the first season did.

It’s almost like the writers wanted to create for the fans rather than focusing on the story. Cast your eyes to the very first episode that provided much promise and hope, what we are left with is no real story. Mixing education with start-up brains, romance, and innovation appears to give the story the last straw. What we loved about season 1 was the characters and what they represented. The more miserable our characters look, the more we regret our loyalty to harbor on with season 2. The second season offers new challenges for our lead characters and one where it will lead audiences to wonder if they will rekindle.
After its triumphant return, let's meet the cast of Mismatched season 2 including Prajakta Koli, Rohit Saraf and Vihaan Samat.
I’m looking forward to working on more dramatic pieces.” – Vihaan Samat, via This season, you can see him in a more sensitive light,” he said. But to your point, I’m open to exploring all sorts of characters and genres. “I was doing content before, I had characters I was playing, but I hadn’t ever written a character, or been on a mainstream show. she’s the opposite of her handle.” – Rohit Saraf, via But yes, she’s insane… One great thing about her is that she’s a very good observer… “She’s totally crazy! And I feel that broke the ice very quickly and that made us very comfortable around each other. - Meera Khurana as Meera Aunty Both of us are equally sassy and we keep bullying each other. - Vichitra Singh as Tejmal
