మొత్తంగా ఈ "ఓరి దేవుడా!" అయితే ఓటీటీల పుణ్యమా అని ఒరిజినల్ వెర్షన్ అయిన "ఓ మై కడవులే" చూసేసిన వాళ్లకి కొత్త అనుభూతి ఏ మాత్రం కలగదు. విషయమేంటో తెలియకుండా ఏ అంచనాలు పెట్టుకోకుండా డైరెక్ట్ గా చూసే ఆడియన్స్ కు మాత్రం కొంతవరకు నచ్చొచ్చు. దాని చుట్టూ సరదాగా కథను నడిపిస్తూ, బలవంతపు కామెడీ ట్రాక్ కాకుండా ఉన్న పాత్రలతోటే హ్యూమర్ సృష్టిస్తూ లైటర్ వీన్ లో నడపడం బాగుంది. జీవితంలో ఒక నిర్ణయం తీసుకుని ఇబ్బందులకు గురైనప్పుడు దేవుడు హీరోకి వెనక్కెళ్లి వేరే నిర్ణయం తీసుకోవడానికి రెండో చాన్స్ ఇస్తాడు. రెండున్నరేళ్ల క్రితం తమిళంలో వచ్చిన "ఓ మై కడవులే" కి తెలుగు రీమేక్ ఈ "ఓరి దేవుడా!"

ఈ సినిమాలో తరుణ్ భాస్కర్ రాసిన డైలాగ్స్ బాగా పేలాయి. సాంగ్స్ కూడా వినసొంపుగా అనిపిస్తాయి. అయితే ఇద్దరూ కూడా ఈ సినిమా వరకూ ఓకే కానీ.. అర్జున్ (విశ్వక్ సేన్) అను (మిథిలా పార్కర్) చిన్ననాటి స్నేహితులు.. ఇక దేవుడిగా వెంకటేష్ పాత్ర ఈ సినిమాలో కీలకం. క్లైమాక్స్ కూడా ప్రేక్షకుడి ఊహను దాటిపోదు. విశ్వక్ సేన్ చేసిన బ్రేకప్ సీన్ ఎమోషనల్గా టచ్ అవుతుంది. అను ప్రపోజ్కి అర్జున్ కూడా ఓకే చెప్పేస్తాడు. ముఖ్యంగా అర్జున్ పాత్రలో విశ్వక్ సేన్ ఒదిగిపోయాడు. ఆ టైంలో దేవుడు (వెంకటేష్) ఎలాంటి పరిష్కారం చూపించాడన్నదే మిగిలిన కథ. ఆ టైంలోనే తన సీనియర్ స్కూల్ మేట్ మీరా (ఆశా భట్) దగ్గరౌతాడు. అర్జున్ కోసం అను ఏది వదిలేయడానికైనా సిద్ధంగా ఉంటుంది.

కొన్ని చోట్ల కామెడీ బాగానే వర్కవుట్ అయిన ఈ సినిమాలో.. కామెడీ బాగానే వర్కవుట్ అయ్యాయి. కాబట్టి తెలుగులోనూ ఈ ఐడియా బాగానే వర్కవుట్ అయింది. లియాన్ జేమ్స్ సంగీతం హుషారుగా సాగింది. వెంకీ అసిస్టెంటుగా రాహుల్ రామకృష్ణ కూడా మంచి జోష్ ఇస్తాడు. ఆయన ప్రేక్షకులకు మంచి ఉత్సాహాన్నిస్తాడు. నేపథ్య సంగీతం కూడా బాగున్నాయి. విశ్వక్సేన్ మంచి పెర్ఫామర్ అనే విషయాన్ని కొత్తగా చెప్పాల్సిన పని లేదు. అంతా బాగానే ఉన్నా లీడ్ పెయిర్ మధ్య కెమిస్ట్రీ మాత్రం ఎక్కడా వర్కవుట్ అయినట్లు అయితే అనిపించదు. అర్జున్ (విశ్వక్సేన్).. కానీ అను పట్ల అర్జున్ కు ఎలాంటి ఫీలింగ్స్ ఏర్పడవు. అను (మిథిలా పాల్కర్) చిన్నప్పట్నుంచి స్నేహితులు.

Young actor Vishwak Sen who gained a good youth following has now come up with a rom-com Ori Devuda directed by Ashwath Marimuthu.

On the whole, Ori Devuda is a decent rom-com that offers a pleasant drama in the second half. The VFX work at places in the film is patchy and looks odd on the big screen. Barring the okayish first half, the movie is a watchable rom-com this weekend. A few scenes lack the punch, and this is when the film becomes slightly dull. At the same time, the film isn’t overwhelming as well. The movie gets dragged at places, and the editing team should have chopped the film a bit to make matters more engaging. It is only during the second half much of the story happens, and the first hour doesn’t offer much. The pacing is very slow in the first half. The film has Victory Venkatesh in a cameo. The story moves at a good pace in this part. The film’s second half offers a joyful ride with a few dramatic moments. Especially her act in the climax portions is nice.

With an intriguing yet contemporary story, there is so much one can do with a film like Ori Devuda. But Ashwath Marimuthu resorts to retelling the story in ...

Much of the film coasts along well on the strength of the drama embedded in the writing. But you can't watch Ori Devuda with great expectations because it reproduces scenes and characters from the original as though remaking is nothing but a carbon copy of the original. But even as the tone shifts from light-hearted fun, and fantasy, to heavy drama in the second half, you don't get the feeling of actually rooting for the characters in this film. But Ashwath Marimuthu, who also directed the original, resorts to retelling the story in a different language with a different cast. While we agree that remakes are a safe bet with a proven outcome, but, what stopped the director from throwing in some creativity and making some sensible alterations to give it a zingy touch? With an intriguing yet contemporary story, there is so much one can do with a film like Ori Devuda.

When the hero needs to be distracted after seeing his crush, the filmmakers should have cast a more attractive actress. Instead of telling a novel story, the film focuses on the hero's realization of his true love for his wife. This concept allows the director to present two distinct love stories within the confines of the same setting. The “Avunanava” song is the best among the music tracks. However, the chemistry between Vishwak Sen and Mithila is uninspiring. In the second half, he has the opportunity to perform some emotional sequences, which he does admirably.

They think that the marriage has been floundering and that they are are done for. This Telugu remake of 'Oh My Kadavule' (Tamil) sees Vishwak Sen stepping into the shoes of Ashok Selvan, while Mithila Palkar reprises Ritika Singh, Venkatesh reprises Vijay Sethupathi, and Asha Bhat takes care of the role played by Vani Bhojan in the original.
