The British-era suspension bridge on the Machchhu river was crammed with people when it collapsed around 6:30 pm. Cases under section 304, 308 and 114 of IPC have been registered on the management team of the bridge. The injured are being treated at hospitals and many of them have also been sent to their homes after treatment.

[नरेंद्र मोदी](https://www.abplive.com/topic/narendra-modi) ने गुजरात के सीएम और अन्य अधिकारियों ने मोरबी में हुई दुर्घटना के संबंध में बात की है. गुजरात के सीएम भूपेंद्र पटेल ने भी राज्य सरकार की ओर से प्रत्येक मृतक के परिवार को 4 लाख रुपये और घायलों को 50,000 रुपये देने का एलान किया है. इस विषय में मैंने गुजरात के गृह राज्य मंत्री हर्ष संघवी व अन्य अधिकारियों से बात की है. केंद्रीय गृह मंत्री अमित शाह ने हादसे पर दुख जताते हुए ट्वीट किया कि, "मोरबी में हुए हादसे से अत्यंत दुखी हूं. इस हादसे में करीब 400 लोगों के नदी में डूबने की आशंका है. प्रशासन की ओर से राहत और बचाव कार्य जारी है. प्रशासन को घायलों के तत्काल इलाज की व्यवस्था करने का निर्देश दिया गया है. एसडीआरएफ समेत जवानों को बचाव कार्य में लगाया गया है." एडल्ट के लिए 17 रुपये और बच्चों के लिए 12 रुपये के टिकट बेचे गए हैं. SDRF की 3 और राज्य रिजर्व पुलिस के 2 दस्तें भी बचाव और राहत कार्यों के लिए मोरबी पहुंच रही हैं. इलाज के लिए राजकोट सिविल अस्पताल में एक आइसोलेशन वार्ड भी बनाया गया है. इस हादसे में अब तक 84 लोगों की मौत हो गई है.
