Himachal Pradesh election 2022 result LIVE Updates: Most exit poll results for the Himachal election 2022 have predicted a hung assembly in the hilly state. Congress insiders say that any hopes for the party's revival has to start from Himachal Pradesh. The BJP and Janata Party won 29 and two seats, respectively, and independents bagged six seats in that election. Several independent candidates in the state claimed that they have started getting feelers from the two main parties for their support. Chief Electoral Officer Maneesh Garg said that around 10,000 duty staff and security personnel have been deployed across Himachal Pradesh on Thursday. The counting of votes for assembly elections 2022 will start at 68 counting halls in 59 locations throughout the state on Thursday morning. Sujanpur: Congress has again fielded Rajinder Singh Rana who defeated former Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal in the 2017 elections. BJP has fielded Ravi Mehta from the seat. The counting will begin at 8 am. With a muted campaign by the Aam Aadmi Party and its former state in-charge Satyendar Jain lodged in Tihar jail, Himachal election is considered two-way contest only between BJP and Congress. Himachal Pradesh has not returned any incumbent government to power after 1985, a trend the ruling BJP, powered by Prime Minister Narendra Modi's personalised campaign, hopes to break. The counting of votes will start at 8 am.

The incumbent Chief Minister is seeking a second term in Himachal Pradesh by contesting from the Seraj constituency in the Mandi district. In the State capital, Shimla, Harish Janartha of Congress is currently leading with 1724, and BJP’s Sanjay Sood is trailing with 1146 votes in the recently held assembly elections. The latest trends of vote counting in Himachal Pradesh disclose that BJP is leading the elections at 30 seats, while Congress is trailing behind with 28 of the 68 seats in the hilly State. He has served as State youth Congress president and is now the general secretary of the State Congress committee and in-charge of communications. Similarly, Congress candidate Sudhir Sharma is leading in the Dharamshala constituency with 6338 votes while Rakesh Kumar of BJP is trailing with 3584 votes, as per the latest trends by the ECI. With a tight contest between the bigwigs, the BJP and Congress, it’s important to note that Independents are leading in four seats in the State. Kumari is among the Chief Ministerial probable in case the Congress wins the assembly elections.
