मोरक्को की टीम को दूसरे हाफ के इंजरी टाइम के अंतिम लगभग छह मिनट 10 खिलाड़ियों के साथ खेलना पड़ा लेकिन दुनिया की नौवें नंबर की पुर्तगाल की टीम इसका फायदा नहीं उठा पाई दुनिया की 22वें नंबर की टीम मोरक्को के लिए अल थुमामा स्टेडियम में यूसुफ एन नेसरी ने विजयी गोल 42वें मिनट में दागा. टीम ने अब तक अपने अभियान के दौरान सिर्फ एक गोल गंवाया है और वह भी कनाडा के खिलाफ आत्मघाती गोल. इससे पहले यूसुफ एन नेसरी के हैडर से दागे गोल की बदौलत अंतिम लम्हों में 10 खिलाड़ियों से खेलने के बावजूद मोरक्को शनिवार को यहां पुर्तगाल को 1-0 से हराकर फीफा विश्व कप के सेमीफाइनल में जगह बनाने वाला पहला अफ्रीकी और अरब देश बना. वहीं पहले हाफ में ही फ्रांस ने अपना दबदबा बना एक गोल मारकर बना लिया था. यह गोल 17वें मिनट में ही ऑरेलियन टचौमेनी ने किया था. इसके साथ ही फ्रांस ने सेमीफाइनल में जगह बना ली है.
