Veera Simha Reddy is a film that reeks of clichéd ideas. Be it the over-the-top action sequences or his punch dialogues, they are aplenty in Veera Simha Reddy. Director Gopichandh Malineni’s Veera Simha Reddy is as formulaic as it can get. There’s objectification of women and the problematic male gaze throughout the film and the songs as well. Does Veera Simha Reddy have enough meat to impress the audience? With Veera Simha Reddy, he treats his fans to another fun commercial entertainer, which also reminds us of old films with similar storylines.

As the central character Veera Simha Reddy, Balakrishna holds the film together and it’s quite literally a one-man show. Varalaxmi Sarath Kumar is the only other actor from the supporting cast, who gets a meaty part, a Neelambari-inspired character from Padayappa, which she pulls off effortlessly. The story quickly shifts to Rayalaseema, where we’re introduced to Jai’s father Veera Simha Reddy (also played by Balakrishna), who rules over Kurnool. However, one Prathap Reddy (Duniya Vijay) has been yearning to avenge the death of his father by killing Veera Simha Reddy, but all his plans so far have backfired. The restaurant is run by India-born Meenakshi (Honey Rose), who is threatened to sell the property and sign the papers by next morning. All of this applies to his latest release Veera Simha Reddy, too, which is a millionth iteration of the same story set against the backdrop of Rayalaseema.

While the first half of the film is entertaining, the second half is disastrous. The film is only for die-hard fans of Balayya, not for the regular audiences. So, the second half turns out to be a combination of action-stunts fest and poor sentiment scenes. It's hilarious to see Varalaxmi misunderstand his brother and swear vengeance without bothering to get to the bottom of the situation. The heroines' portrayals are just as bad as the pointless fighting. In the first half, his costume is a rip-off of Sivanna's "Mufti." And for how much longer will Balakrishna brag about his dad and his 'charitra' (history) without regard to the story's arc? Balakrishna takes aim at the current government in Andhra Pradesh in a scene where the hero has an argument with the minister of home affairs. The twist makes us wait for the second part. The production values are very high because the producers have invested a lot of money. After the stunning success of “Akhanda” and the popularity of talk show “Unstoppable” brought new craze to Balakrishna’s movies. After Balakrishna, Varalakshmi Sarath Kumar plays a pivotal role in the film.

Directed by Gopichand Malineni, the film focuses on Bala Simha Reddy, who returns to India after his father Veera Simha Reddy is killed due to village politics. Another moviegoer Srikanth Reddy took a sarcastic tone and tweeted, “Catching up a Balayya movie on a benefit show has to be on the resume! She tweeted, “Leave brain outside the hall and just go and shout Jai Balayya randomly. Not in front of the pub, not even in the theater, no one will go Jai Balayya in this second half. Another user said the movie starts on a good note and Balayya packs a punch with his performance, fight sequences and dance. The user wrote, “Review: Starts with good note, NBK shines as usual with his powerful performance, fights and dance. 4 am show it was, however bad the movie is, this experience will be cherished.” Another moviegoer, who goes by the username walkman_guy on Twitter said the movie is catered to single-screen sensibilities and that Nandamuri Balakrishna, also known as Balayya among his fans, was impressed with his performance. He wrote, “Single screens will erupt with Jai Balayya slogans. While his fans found the second half of the film to be a stretch, they said it was a fun experience inside theatres overall. Shruti scenes cringe. Action scenes are crackers.

రక్తపాతం, తలలు నరుక్కోవడం, గట్టిగా అరుచుకోవడం నచ్చి బాలకృష్ణ మీద వీరాభిమానం ఉంటే ఈ సినిమా చూడొచ్చు. ఈ రక్తపాతం రాయలసీమ సీన్స్లోనే కాకుండా ఇస్తాన్ బుల్ లో కూడా పెట్టారు. ఇంతకీ ఈ బాలకృష్ణ లోకల్ గా ఉన్న ఒక అమ్మాయిని (శ్రుతి హాసన్) ఇష్టపడతాడు. అభిమానులకి కూడా ఏవరేజ్ అనిపించే సినిమా ఇది. ఈ రెండు విభాగాలు బెస్ట్ అనిపించేలా పని చేసాయి. ఈ ముగ్గురితో పాటూ వీర సింహా రెడ్డి చెల్లెలు భానుమతి (వరలక్ష్మి), ఆమె భర్త ప్రతాప్ రెడ్డి (దునియా విజయ్) లతో ముడిపడి ఉన్న రివెంజ్ డ్రామా ఈ చిత్రం. తెలుగు చిత్రపరిశ్రమకి ఉన్న విలువని కాపాడుకోవాలి కానీ ఉన్న పరిశ్రమ పరువుని సి-గ్రేడ్ భావజాలంతో పోగొట్టడం కాదని కూడా అర్ధం చేసుకోవాలి. ఈ చిత్ర బృందం కూడా అదే పని చేసింది. "అఖండ" విజయం తర్వాత "అన్ స్టాపబుల్" తో వచ్చిన క్రేజుతో పండగ సీజన్లో బాలకృష్ణ "వీర సింహా రెడ్డి" తో వచ్చాడు. ఈ పాత్రలతో బాలకృష్ణకి ఒక కథ రాయమంటే ఇన్నాళ్లూ సినిమాలు చూసిన అనుభవంతో ఒక కథ రాసేయడం కష్టం కాదు. "సంతకాలు పెడితే బోర్డు మీద పేరు మారుతుందేమో. ఆ జంటకి సంబంధం మాట్లాడి పెళ్లి చేసేందుకు పులిచర్లలో ఉన్న వీరసింహా రెడ్డిని (పెద్ద బాలకృష్ణ) పిలుస్తుంది.

బ్యాగ్రౌండ్ మ్యూజిక్ అయితే పూనకాలే. ఐటమ్ సాంగ్లో అయితే ఐటమ్ భామ అందాల జాతర చేసింది. మళ్లీ కత్తి బాలయ్య చేతిలోకి వచ్చి చేరటాలు.. అనేట్టుగా అనిపిస్తాయి. బుర్రా సాయి మాధవ్ రాసిన డైలాగ్లు పేలడం కాదు.. ఆ సినిమాల స్థాయి కథని అయితే అందించలేకపోయాడు గోపీచంద్. గోపీచంద్ బాలయ్య అభిమాని కావడంతో.. వీరసింహారెడ్డిలో బుర్రా సాయి మాధవ్ డైలాగ్స్ హైలైట్ అయ్యాయి. అంటూ బాలయ్య ఊచకోత కోస్తూనే ఉన్నాడు. బాలయ్యతో తన్నులు తినడానికేనా అనేట్టుగా ఉంది. వీరసింహారెడ్డి (బాలయ్య) చెల్లెలు భానుమతి (వరలక్ష్మీ శరత్) కుమార్తో చేతులు కలిపివీరసింహారెడ్డిని అంతమొందిస్తాడు. అయితే ఎంత మాస్ బిర్యానీ అయినా సరే..
