माखीजा 2017 से लगातार विवेकानंद जयंती पर इस यात्रा का आयोजन कर रहे हैं। स्वामी विवेकानंद की जयंती राष्ट्रीय युवा दिवस के रूप में मनाई गई। इस मौके पर विवेकानंद केंद्र बिलासपुर व डाक्टर ओम माखीजा के सहयोग से राष्ट्र स्वाभिमान यात्रा का आयोजन किया गया।इस दौरान शहर के नागरिकों ने स्वामी विवेकानंद के उद्देश्यों को याद कर अपने रखे। यात्रा संयोजक डा. गुरु घासीदास केंद्रीय विश्वविद्यालय में स्वामी विवेकानंद जयंती को राष्ट्रीय युवा दिवस के रूप में मनाया गया। इसमें वक्ताओं ने स्वामी विवेकानंद के जीवन पर अपने विचार रखे। विश्वविद्यालय के कुलपति प्रोफेसर आलोक कुमार चक्रवाल ने कहा कि युवा विद्यार्थियों को स्वामीजी के जीवन से प्रेरणा लेनी चाहिए। उन्होंने कहा कि सफल होना तपस्या के समान है। कार्यक्रम के मुख्य अतिथि वासु जैन सहायक कलेक्टर ने कहा कि स्वामी विवेकानंद की बातों का केंद्र सदा युवा रहे। उन्होंने युवाओं की सकारात्मक ऊर्जा को राष्ट्र निर्माण पर प्रयोग किए जाने पर बल दिया।
