Now in his debt, Shelly lets his guard down, allowing Shaan to push himself further into his life (and into his companion's bed). “Indian intelligence can’t lay a finger on me,” Shelly says at one point, as we see Tillotama Shome’s handler recruit the reluctant Shaan for the job. The trailer portrays Shelly as an over-the-top villain, and Kapoor seems to be having a ball with the character, going by his menacing line delivery and stately screen presence. While Aditya Roy Kapur has the impassive look down pat, he doesn’t seem to have the charm and suaveness of Tom Hiddleston, at least in what we see of him in the trailer. We are willing to give it a go even though it will be hard not to compare it to the original all the way. The next few shots will be familiar to those who have seen the original series that set up how the night manager wins the trust of the arms dealer.
