दिल्ली-मुंबई एक्सप्रेस-वे में कार जैसे हल्के वाहनों के लिए 120 किलोमीटर प्रति घंटा अधिकतम गति सीमा होगी. इस एक्सप्रेस-वे में अभी टोल टैक्स को लेकर किसी तिथि की घोषणा नहीं की गयी है. दिल्ली से मुंबई जाने में वर्तमान में 24 घंटे का समय लगता है लेकिन इस एक्सप्रेस-वे के शुरू होने के बाद इसे पूरा करने में करीब 12 घंटे लगेंगे. एक्सप्रेस-वे की शुरुआत होने से दो घंटे कम समय में तय की जा सकेगी दिल्ली से जयपुर तक की यात्रा. यह दिल्ली और मुंबई के बीच यात्रा की दूरी को 12 प्रतिशत घटाकर 1,424 किलोमीटर से 1,242 किलोमीटर कर देगा. प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने रविवार को दिल्ली-मुंबई एक्सप्रेस-वे के पहले चरण को राष्ट्र को समर्पित किया.

Once completed, the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway will bring down the travel time between the two metro cities to 12 hours, which is half of the current 24 hours taken to travel between these two mega-cities. It covers 11 villages in the Gurugram district, seven villages in Palwal and 47 villages in the Nuh district. This stretch spans 245 kilometres and is an alternative to the busy Delhi-Jaipur Expressway.
