Rafe and Ward have the cross and the gold, but knowing that it is the legacy of Denmark Tanny, the pogues’ need to get the treasure is a matter of pride and justice and not just the money. But another surprise for everyone is that the rest of the Pogues are also on the ship, for the cross, and for Sarah. As for the Pogues, John and Sarah make up, and when they are on their mission to retrieve the cross, Sarah is kidnapped by her mother and taken away on a ship, where it turns out that her father is alive after all, and they are all escaping to make a new life somewhere else. While Kiara’s parents put her out of the house due to her irresponsibility towards them, Pope discovers that he is the descendant of Denmark Tanny. Clara finds that in Sarah’s home, where an entire room is the map of the island, which has been hidden beneath the wallpaper all this time; when Sarah sees that, she and the Pogues figure out that the treasure must be at the base of the Angel Oak tree on Goat Island. That is when they discover the clue to the treasure, which is in a church. While this problem is behind them, Sarah breaks up with Jon as she needs time to process everything that has happened, and she is unable to lean on John as he wouldn’t be able to support her in her grief when he hated her father for what he had done to John’s family. He confesses to all his crimes and even takes the blame for the murder of Sheriff Peterkin to let his son off the hook. Clara tells him that Denmark Tanny had brought freedom to his sons, but when he tried to do the same for his wife, she was shot dead by her owners as she was trying to escape. While he unsuccessfully tries to steal the gold from Ward’s house, Sarah is kidnapped by the captain and his crew. But unknown to Sarah and John, Ward Cameron has also come to the Bahamas. Another instance from the same episode is that of the wasp nest.

The Pogues orchestrate an almost-successful plan to win back the cross before jumping overboard and taking a lifeboat to The Pogues observe from a distance, then sneak onto the boat as stowaways to rescue Sarah and take back the cross. Through a series of clues deciphered through historical artifacts, the Pogues find the cross, but end up losing it to Rafe and Limbrey. The boat is seen capsizing, but John B and Sarah somehow manage to survive, then get rescued by a cargo ship headed to the Bahamas — where the gold has been flown by Ward’s pilot. ▪ Hello, Bahamas — Season 2 opens with plenty of action, as John B and Sarah arrive in the Bahamas as fugitives and are captured by the crew on the cargo ship that originally brought them to the island country. The group heads back to the Outer Banks, where John B is (wrongly) arrested for the murder of the sheriff. John B and Sarah manage to escape the island using a boat owned by JJ’s abusive father, heading straight into the storm. Most of the show’s main characters — teens John B, Pope, JJ and Kiara — consider themselves to be Pogues, while born-Kook Sarah Cameron becomes more of a Pogue as she begins a star-crossed romance with John B. Two main groups exist on the show’s fictional Outer Banks setting: the Pogues, or the working-class locals who live on “the Cut,” and the Kooks, the rich, upper-class people who live on Figure Eight Island — — Ward retrieves the gold, then makes plans to fly it by private plane to the Bahamas. Main character John B introduces the Outer Banks early on in the pilot episode, referring to it as “Paradise on Earth.” The characters — who, as John B says in a voiceover, are on a summer mission to “have a good time, all the time” — spend lots of time on the water, surfing, boating and fishing. ▪ Welcome to the Outer Banks — Let’s start with some scene-setting.
Class-warfare treasure-hunting YA series from Josh Pate, Jonas Pate, and Shannon Burke has gotten too big for its britches.
Somehow, the presence of a thousand hands for hire, constant street chases and shootouts aren’t enough to make the hour-long episodes go faster. Season Three of Outer Banks relies heavily on narration and flashbacks to keep its momentum going, a party trick that does little to hide its thin plot. It’s a pity, then, that Season Three sacrifices nearly all of the show’s original charm to keep its already-unbelievable treasure hunt theme going just a little while longer. Rutledge (Chase Stokes) and his friends Kiara (Madison Bailey), Pope (Jonathan Daviss), and JJ (Rudy Pankow), known as the Pogues (a play on “pogies,” a type of small fish). By sheer luck, and the intervention of Jamaican newcomer Cleo (Carlacia Grant), the friends got out of enemy hands and became stranded on a desert island nicknamed Poguelandia. 23 — opens with the Pogues cheerfully enjoying their tropical paradise, it quickly leaves the island behind, sending the intrepid teens on the run (once again) in a last-ditch attempt to find their fortune and maybe stay alive in the process.

We kind of had lightning in a bottle season 1, and I was so excited about the response to season 1, I just kept thinking like when is it going to end? It means the world because this project means the world to us as the cast, but the other half of making a show is also putting it in front of people, and seeing how they receive it. To see that be such a positive response time and time again is just the most overwhelming and amazing thing to watch. “And I think it's because the action and the adventure has ramped up. All in the days work for an average 16-year-old in the Outer Banks. The show premiered its first season on Netflix while many watchers were stuck at home, so a small, yet rowdy cult-like following emerged following the teen action series.

The search for John B's father Big John finally comes to an end, as does the Pogues' hunt for El Dorado, the Venezuelan city of gold. Of course nothing runs ...
The older man hands them the promise of a new quest in the form of a manuscript, the captain's log of Blackbeard, the pirate. She isn't the only one to lose a parent on this quest as Big John sadly bleeds out from his earlier wounds. A stick of dynamite in hand, Big John threatens to set it off unless Singh lets his son go. In the kerfuffle both Johns and Sarah escape with their gold. It'll do though, as Sarah and John collect the gold and head on out. The city of gold is more like hunks of gold studded throughout. Big John finally shares what he's learned from the Gnomon clues as they arrive at the cave. Big John is shot but they manage to escape. However, Singh appears just in time to scupper their plans when he receives the next clue. Carlos sets his men on them to search the village for Big John. Unfortunately Ward also had the same idea of seeking out Jose and, with Singh's men close behind, they are forced to let him tag along so as not to waste time. They, too, head to Tres Rocas and eventually catch up with the gang.
Outer Banks season 3 explains a lot of show mysteries - but creates more unanswered questions for the future of the show as it does so.
[the Outer Banks season](https://screenrant.com/what-happened-sarah-rafe-mom-outer-banks/) reveals the next adventure for the Pogues: discovering Blackbeard's sunken ship at the behest of a potential client, who hands them a journal. Ward has seemingly died in every season of the show, and every season so far, he's been revealed to in fact be alive and ready to once again face off against the Pogues in some shape or form. Outer Banks season 3, episode 9 ends with Topper confronting the Pogues, and then phoning the district attorney general's office to formally file charges against John B for attacking him previously. These hopes only rose higher with the reveal that Outer Banks season 3 would also cover the mystery of the lost city of El Dorado, and in doing so create an even more intense adventure for the Pogues than anything they experienced prior. [Outer Banks season](https://screenrant.com/outer-banks-season-2-ending-explained/) ends with the group finally being acknowledged for their adventuring skills as they are officially rewarded for finding El Dorado, but not before the loss of more than one character in the series. With audiences knowing that season 3 would mark the reintroduction of the long-missing Big John Routledge, and reintroduce him to his son, expectations were high for the series' third chapter.

The tragedies continue as Outer Banks season 3 ends the main quest, one that momentarily looks to be a place that could bring the show's conclusion. With their new riches in hand, the Pogues return to Outer Banks and are honored for their discovery 18 months later. Thankfully, Big John intervenes and lights a stick of dynamite to blow up the entrance to El Dorado, and it kills Singh in the process of covering up the entrance. The Pogues' attempt to return home after a botched attempt to get the Cross of Santo Domingo leads them directly into the middle of the search for the legendary city of El Dorado.
Outer Banks creators are teasing the next thrilling seaside journey for the Pogues in Outer Banks Season Four!
And let's be real, those waters can be just as dangerous as the choppy waves of the Outer Banks. We're thinking the Pogues will continue their search for treasure while navigating the treacherous waters of high school. But let's be real, we're all already counting down the days until we can dive back into the world of treasure hunts, shipwrecks, and epic romance. The showrunners, Jonas Pate, Josh Pate, and Shannon Burke, are ecstatic to continue the journey with the lovable cast and the die-hard fans who made it all possible. In their own words, "the joyride continues into Season Four of Outer Banks." According to a press release, the
Dreams that JJ and Kiara would be a couple right from the start of Outer Banks season 3 were broken, but it hints that the romance could be endgame.
With the Outer Banks season 3's ending leaving some ambiguity about the status of their relationship after the time jump, the developments that did come before might not guarantee that everything is smooth sailing for JJ and Kiara going forward. That is why there were dreams of JJ and Kiara's romance being established right away in Outer Banks season 3 and being a foundational part of the new storyline. Between their various fights in season 3 and JJ's heroic effort to rescue Kiara from Kitty Hawk, Outer Banks is taking the time to fully develop their romance so they can be the show's endgame relationship. Those hoping for a JJ and Kiara romantic relationship at the beginning of Outer Banks season 3 are forced to wait. Thankfully, it all points to Outer Banks having a better plan for JJ and Kiara's romance. The series' primary romance comes from John B and Sarah Cameron, while Outer Banks season 3 makes

They make it to their boat in the river, but Big John doesn't make the journey and dies on his way. Big John lights up a firecracker and warns him that he is willing to blow up the opening to El Dorado if he tries to do anything. After everything that they've been through, John B and Sarah finally make it to the special cave that's filled with a huge mountain of gold AKA El Dorado. Knowing that he can't continue due to his injury, Big John encourages Sarah and John B to go through the opening and see if the treasure is back there. Placing her hands on the hand symbol, another part of the cave opens up and it leads them to...a giant cliff that they have to jump over... So John B, Sarah, and Big John manage to make their way to Jose's boat and John B shares the rosetta stone that Pope found that will help them translate the rest of the glyphs. John B, Big John, and Sarah continue on their journey, but John B notices that his father has been shot in the big fight. The group make it out to a cave, where they feel like they've hit a dead end. Sarah, John B, and Big John make their way to Solana and it's a tough hike up, especially with Big John's relentlessness to get up there ASAP. The next morning, the crew makes their way up to Solana to try to make it in time for the solstice. The private plane crew decides to divide and conquer to try to find Jose, the guide that is supposed to help lead them to the treasure, while Big John attempts to escape by going through the window. Sarah reminds him that he's injured and Ward seems to jump back on the plane, but this is obviously Ward we're talking about...

Lots of lives were lost in the recent season of Netflix's "Outer Banks," and two of them played a big part in the plot. Here's how it went down.
Although we finally (!) got a proper introduction to Big John in OBX3, he, unfortunately, doesn't make it to season 4. Ward has come close to death throughout the series and even faked his death with a massive boat explosion in season two. The two most shocking deaths this season, though, are Ward (which is actually real this time, unlike last season) and John B's dad, Big John. The dangerous hunt resulted in a few deaths by the end of the season — including that of two major characters. The Pogues start out season 3 on an island they've deemed their new home, but with no money and a lack of resources, they head back to [the OBX](https://www.seventeen.com/celebrity/movies-tv/a32188699/where-is-outer-banks-filmed-netflix/) to attempt a return to their normal lives before they began their tumultuous treasure hunt for the Cross of Santo Domingo. Halfway through the new season, that plan goes out the window when they discover the treasure is in the OBX.

Is Carlos Singh alive? What's the new Blackbeard mystery? OBX has some loose ends to tie up in Season 4.
He hands over a manuscript containing the captain’s log of a ship, explaining that it shows “the exact location where the ship sailed, and where it stopped.” The captain? (Her voice is used to lure Sarah to a meeting with Ward, but she’s not physically present.) With Rafe causing trouble in the Outer Banks and Ward following in hopes of mending his relationship with Sarah, Rose and Wheezie are left to their own devices in Guadeloupe. After the Pogues bury Big John, the Outer Banks Season 3 finale, “Secret of the Gnomon,” flashes forward 18 months to a ceremony honoring their exploratory efforts. Unsurprisingly (but also surprisingly, if you know the treasure-obsessed Big John), he chooses John B and throws a lit firework deep into the cave. But clearly, something happened in the year-and-a-half since the Pogues returned with their spoils that prompted Topper to drop the charges — either that, or John B’s cut went to restitution. While Rose Cameron (Caroline Arapoglou) appears early on in the season — her big moment comes in Episode 1, “Poguelandia,” when she and Rafe fight over what to do with the stolen Cross of Santo Domingo — Wheezie Cameron (Julia Antonelli), Sarah and Rafe’s sister, is largely absent. The Netflix drama has given viewers every reason to suspect that Ward and Singh are still alive, though if only one will make it, things are looking a bit better for the latter. Will Ward follow through on his promise and hand over the keys to the kingdom to his sociopathic son? While the discovery allows the Pogues to even the playing field and go “full Kook,” their nickname for the OBX’s most privileged residents, it comes at a steep cost for Big John Routledge (Charles Halford), who dies after suffering a gunshot wound. As a thank you, Ward tells Rafe what he so desperately wants to hear: He’s “proved” himself by coming back for his father, and now, he’s been granted control over the family’s assets. Limbrey hired Big John to find the Shroud of Turin, a religious garment rumored to have healing powers, believing it will cure her of a mysterious disease. And yet, in the supersized finale, their search brings them deep into the jungle of South America, where they discover a cave filled with gold that has been untouched for over 500 years.

Moments later, the crew notices Big John has lost a ton of blood. John B and Sarah make it to El Dorado and secure a bag full of gold, but on their way out, Singh shows up and threatens to kill them. After Big John, John B, and Sarah make it out of El Dorado, another plot twist goes down. Ward and one of Singh’s henchmen pop-up out of nowhere. This go-round, the OBX crew found themselves stranded on a deserted island while looking for John B’s father and El Dorado, the lost city of gold. When they arrive, the group's primary goal is to find John B’s father, Big John, who’s been kidnapped by Carlos Singh, a bloodthirsty bounty hunter.

“That was really important in the themes of the story,” Oseman said. “The artists are fans of the show. Such shows could avoid much of the dark and sexually explicit content that parents find alienating about series like “Euphoria.” “Outer Banks” was a particularly unexpected success. “I don’t think I realized actually how much of an impact it would have on some people.” “It’s something that’s so relatable, whether you’re a young adult looking to be entertained by an experience you may be going through, or it’s from an adult point of view that is nostalgic or reflective and can be quite reminiscent of your coming-of-age experience,” said Peter Friedlander, Netflix’s vice president of scripted series for the U.S. “That level of popularity expands beyond just the YA demographic, it’s really across our membership.” In a deal not previously announced, Netflix has a project in development inspired by Amber Dermont’s book “The Starboard Sea.” The show also took care in how it handled conversations between Ginny and her therapist. CW series such as “All-American” and “Riverdale” drew modest ratings on the broadcast networks but became full-blown hits once they were made available on Netflix. Bulking up in the so-called YA (young adult) category comes at a time when streamers are under pressure to become more profitable, increase their subscriber base and reduce churn. Coleman came from Thousand Oaks for the chance to meet the cast of her favorite show, which follows a group of teens hunting for treasure along the eponymous North Carolina coastline.
They're headed to Tres Rocas, South America to save John B's dad, Big John, and snag the El Dorado gold before this season's main villain, Carlos Singh, and his ...
They end up finding a massive pile of El Dorado gold and fill their bags with some of it, only to find Singh at the front of the cave. He and Ryan end up in a scuffle, where they end up being pushed off the cliff and dying. Big John ultimately bleeds out and dies during the journey. As they take in the moment, a man with a manuscript proposes a new quest for the Pogues that surrounds Edward Teach (a.k.a Blackbeard). John B, Sarah, and Big John safely make it to Jose's boat on the river while John B uses the rosetta stone to help them translate the glyphs they need to get to the treasure. A fight breaks out, which results in Big John getting shot, but he muscles through it and continues on his journey with the Pogues. Ward and the other Pogues notice the explosion and head in that direction, with Ward getting there first. Sarah, John B, and Big John manage to make it before they ran out of time and correctly make out the translation. If only it were that easy to get the gold — Ward shows up with Singh and his men, who were sent their location in exchange for Sarah's safety. Of course, Big John doesn't go down without a fight — he refuses to give him the directions and knows Singh won't kill him since he is the only person who knows how to get there. While it originally started in the OBX, it eventually led them to the Bahamas in season 2 and South America in season 3. As everyone touches down in Tres Rocas, they're ready to save Big John and find El Dorado.
it was Ward Cameron actions that kicked off the entire events of "Outer Banks," yet towards the end, he decided to give it all up for redemption.
Rafe did everything to gain the approval of his father and his family and to show he was worthy. He wanted to be a good person because he wanted a relationship with his daughter, and he had to forgive his son if he wanted his daughter to forgive him. He played his part in the scheme of things, and he played it well. When he offered to go with them to El Dorado, for a second, we were suspicious that he was using the kids for his own greed, but as it turns out, he was protecting his daughter. Ward was close to madness and ready to fire the gun when Sarah came in between. He wanted to believe he was a good person because he was giving away the cross and had told Sarah that he would give some of the gold to the ponies. He told his son to never return to his house because he wanted to teach him the value of money and for Rafe to find his own way in the world without his father. Yet, as injured as he was, he took the time to tell his son that he forgave him and that he knew he was a good person because it is what we choose to do in the end that makes us who we are. It was probably that deed that taught him that he did not care about money as much. There was a madness in his eyes, one that made us think that he would go to any extent to protect himself. But he ruined any last hope of that when he tried to strangle Sarah on the boat. On one hand, it was really his actions that kicked off the entire events of “Outer Banks,” yet towards the end, he decided to give it all up for redemption for the very daughter he had tried to strangle.
