Leveraging data and analytics at the service desk can help monitor usage patterns, identify areas for improvement, increase employee engagement, provide a more integrated and elevated employee experience, and bring greater employee satisfaction. Personalizing the service desk involves tailoring it to meet the unique needs of everyone. The service desk of the future will incorporate persona-driven methodology to create user profiles of the employees based on their roles, devices used, and workloads, for instance. As global enterprises turn to the cloud, the service desk must do so, too. The digital service desk of today is adding more and more capabilities, not just to keep up with business progress, but for acting as a catalyst for transforming the workplace into a strong, technology-driven, and customer-centric organization. The service desk must align with these changes to stay relevant for organizations.

Wipro's Approach to Patient Safety (Wipro)

While also diving into highly pertinent topics such as reporting of adverse events (AEs) and verification of medical procedures, Wipro pays particular attention ...

The potential for life-enhancing and life-saving medical procedures is balanced by an acceptable level of patient risk. RFID tags are also helping to prevent the administration of unnecessary procedures, medications, and therapies. Cases from different countries required in-depth understanding of different country level conventions, adding to the complexity of the process Keeping up with such a high frequency of updates and tracking digital acknowledgments and signoffs required immediate attention as the pandemic continued to ravage the world. Wipro ramped up hundreds of Health Care Professionals in just few months by deploying an extended panel of interviewers on a rotation basis to fulfill the huge sourcing ask. We strongly feel that technology is the cornerstone of patient safety with the greatest unrealized potential. Our case processors must have competence to assure correctness and consistency because they are in charge of processing AE data and coding AEs into a standard nomenclature. Patients might take the lead on this problem with respect to HCPs, as AEs directly affect their quality of life. The manufacturers of the products may also receive complaints from consumers, healthcare professionals and others. For instance, in the post-marketing support to our pharma clients, Wipro has multiple layers of quality checks operating before we report any AEs. We at Wipro see health care as a discipline that is constantly advancing and becoming more sophisticated, while at the same time adding new risks to patient safety. That way, when one risk appears already, it is likely that the next layer of defense will help prevent a patient safety event from happening. We also note that, over the past few years, patient safety has become a more prominent issue in the public eye, since the pandemic exposed the shortcomings of healthcare systems by laying bare their inadequacies.

TRENDING [Old vs New Tax Regime? Kotak said spending on cost take-outs will pick up, but will yield benefits in H2FY24 or later. The brokerage has 'reduce' ratings on TCS, LTIMindtree and L&T Technology Services. Companies expect clients to increase focus on cost optimisation projects (with quicker returns) over long-gestation transformational projects in the near term, with rising macroeconomic volatility," Nomura said. While pipelines remain strong, the demand outlook is likely to slow. The IT companies, it said, highlighted higher macro uncertainties than 3-6 months ago. In fact, on a 12-month forward basis, TCS is trading at 25.4 times and is at +1 SD over the mean on a 15-year basis. "Buying Tier-1 IT stocks at current valuations (22 times on a 12-month forward basis, 26 per cent premium to the pre-pandemic 5-year mean) will possibly generate at best mid-to-high single digit CAGR total return over the FY25-FY30 timeframe. Tech budgets outlined at the start of the calendar year can be toned down to align with increased risks faced by the sector," it said while suggesting a likely impact on Indian IT growth in 1HFY24. Until now, banking and financial institutions were spending aggressively on cloud migration and tech upgrades, with tech budgets and outlook on tech spending for 2023 being reasonable for most large US banks.
