After Ante Sundaraniki, Nani is back with the most-awaited movie, Dasara. Nani never upsets the audience by selecting different roles with unique scripts.

The film is set in the backdrop of Singareni coal mines near Godavarikhani of Telangana. Keerthy Suresh shared good chemistry with Nani in the movie. As usual, Nani nailed his character and kept the audience on the edge of their seats with his natural acting.

ఝాన్సీ కూడా ఈ సినిమాలో బాగానే నటించారు. క్లైమాక్స్ ని కూడా చాలా థ్రిల్లింగ్ గా డిజైన్ చేశారు. పొలిటికల్ డ్రామా ని కూడా చాలా బాగా చూపించారు. ఇంటర్వల్ లో వచ్చే పెద్ద ట్విస్ట్ కూడా చాలా బాగుంది. పాటలతో బాగానే మెప్పించిన సంతోష్ నారాయణన్ నేపథ్య సంగీతం తో కూడా బాగానే అలరించారు. సెకండ్ హాఫ్ లో కొన్ని స్లో సన్నివేశాలను మినహాయిస్తే ఎడిటింగ్ కూడా బాగానే అనిపిస్తుంది. సాయికుమార్ నటన కూడా బాగానే అనిపిస్తుంది. తన పాత్రలో బాగానే నటించారు. ఈ సినిమాలో నాని పర్ఫామెన్స్ ఎలా ఉండబోతుందో అని అభిమానులు చాలా ఆసక్తిగా ఎదురు చూశారు. దీక్షిత్ శెట్టి కూడా చాలా బాగా నటించారు. కీర్తి సురేష్ కూడా ఈ సినిమాలో చాలా విభిన్నంగా కనిపించింది. గత కొంతకాలంగా న్యాచురల్ స్టార్ నాని అభిమానులు చాలా ఆసక్తిగా ఎదురుచూస్తున్న సినిమా "దసరా".

Barring a few laggy portions in the second half, the film is a perfect choice to enjoy the weekend. The story is highly predictable in the second half. The film is quite good technically. He shouldered the film all the way. This is a big letdown in the movie. Dasara is not the film that leaves you with a smile at the end of it all, it also doesn’t reinvent the wheel. Shine Tom Chacko gets the chance to be unhinged in a scene, but he feels wasted otherwise. Everyone seems covered at all times in a layer of soot due to the coal mining in the village. Srikanth spends most of the first half of the film setting up the world of Veerlapally and the characters that reside in it. But the men don’t seem to mind, much to the chagrin of the women in the village. Due to that, the sucker punches hit you hard and the rest…they just don’t.

The production design is flawless, and the production values are excellent. Caste politics are also mentioned in the film, but they are not properly established. First, to address the elephant in the room, Dasara is not a wannabe Pushpa or KGF.

The climatic action sequence (watch out for the one where Dharani is underneath a heap of bodies), the cycling sequence near the interval, and even the opening stretch show that this debutante has the imaginative muscles to creatively show masculinity and machismo on screen. Here the odds are so heavily tilted in favour of Dharani, the character and Nani, the star that Suri’s eventual fate never registers as a trauma but it is rather a convenient way to skip the line to reach Vennela. And Dharani is the coward, the addict, and the man-child. More creativity and imagination here would have the thawing of a relationship between Vennela and Dharani seem more natural. A poorly framed cricket match sequence leading up to a “hero shot” is saved once the rap music kicks in. It is to Odela’s credit that in his debut film, more is expected of him than most could expect from filmmakers in their third or fourth films. Things take a turn for the worse when a bar and an evil Sarpanch get in the way and the two men turn towards politics. It’s not the predictability of his fate but rather how immemorable the character is that makes the triangle least interesting. This world-building exercise by Srikanth Odela is immersive and he makes us feel the spice in the boti curry. This is juxtaposed against the metaphor for Dasara in which a man with ten heads was killed by one man. We know that coal mining is the primary livelihood and that the black soot that most would gawk at is viewed as an ornament worn with pride by the villagers.
