NASA develops new AI model to anticipate hazardous space weather (News9 Live)

The new model combines artificial intelligence and data from satellites to provide alerts in dangerous weather.

The model was evaluated on previous solar storms that occurred in August 2011 and March 2015. NASA has developed an early-warning system informally called DAGGER, and formally, Deep Learning Geomagnetic Perturbation, where artificial intelligence is used to analyse data gathered by NASA satellites, to predict the locations on Earth that an impeding solar storm will strike, within 30 minutes of the advanced warning.
